morning crash

i just counted up my calories after a few hours since getting up - quite tired this morning. Not sure whether I was more hungry or tired. Feeling discouraged. i've done the counting and I've consumed 1,000 calories.....about 700+ on Toblerone chocolate. In the name of breakfast. I'm wondering why I'm so hungry- and nothing feels quite filling. Although chocolate came very close to hitting the spot - but now it feels like there's too much happening in my belly. It's a lonely place and that's why I'm reaching out. Sometimes I wonder if this site, which I have been loving and learning a lot from, is becoming too much of an obsession. :frown:

I suggest that you eat more for breakfast, before you find the chocolate. Specifically something with protein in it. Try scrambled eggs with some salmon + advocado + tomato. Trust me, you won't be hungry after that. Protein and the healthy fats in the advocado will help to fill you and keep you full.
It's hard to say what will help you now, I'd try a peppermint tea or just water if you have some. Just to give your system a chance to settle.0 -
I just checked your diary and for the last few days you have been eating very well and staying under your calorie goal very successfully - why beat yourself up over one Toblerone bar? just don't do it again! Have peppermint tea, that's a great idea, or some water with a few drops of lemon juice or a slice of lemon and forget about it.
I used to have a lot of sugar for breakfast without even knowing it, now I've switched to eggs mostly every day and it's keeping me well and full until lunch with just a small snack in between - nuts, or a banana, or whatever else.

Thank you runningjen and feelingchubby!
You both mention eggs and I may give it a go- although I always feel I have to have worked out first before eating a huge breakfast like that. We have been mostly working out at night - but even I have a short run or walk in the morning - early-will make a difference. I often wake up hungry. I had two eggs in 'shukshuka' the other day- I didn't particlulary love it, becuase the eggs weren't cooked enough for me - a little on the coddled side - but I have to say- I was satisfied until 3-4 in the afternoon! Very different than normal.
Thank you for taking the time to check my diary - I really was doing quite well for a lot of the week. This was defintiely bingey- more like finishing off 2.5 bars.
You're both encouraging. And i do love this site.0 -
I always seem to last longer when I have an egg also. I usually aim for about 400 calories for breakfast unless I know I am having an early lunch.0
