Upping exercise during plateau

Hi everyone, I have a question I have been running about 5-8 miles , 6 times a week to lose weight. I have lst 20 pounds since April 8. Am I eventually going to have to up my exercise to keep losing? I'm worried when I plateau ( I know everyone eventually does) Any tips for when I do? I just don't want to have to keep upping my miles lol because by the tie I lse the weight I have I will be running an absurd amount of miles. I run for about an hour to hour and 10 minutes . Thanks

I have found that when I plateau it's not necessarily about upping my exercise, but changing it. Try something different, add in strength training/HIIT or something else. Also, when I plateau, changing my calories affects it as well--I usually up them by about 250 for a bit and it gets me past the plateau

I actually added more yoga and barre3 when i hit plateaus during my weight loss and if the scale inches up too high now that i am on maintenance. I find that the less processed foods i eat the less i see weight fluxes. Walking is my only cardio.

What are your current stats, age, height, weight? Because all of those play a factor, if you don't have that much weight to lose you will for sure see a plateau, but if you still have work to do, then do what the others suggested, Change it up. I would not quit running, but try running intervals (sprint/jog or sprint/walk), or add some heavy weights in a few days a week, give your body something else to focus on rather than the same running all the time. (Just my opinion and changing my workouts periodically works for me, good luck finding what works for you).
