At a cross road...

I'm looking for a new gym/routine, and don't know which way to go.
I was working out with a trainer, and was loving the strength results I was seeing. She got flaky on me, and didn't seem to have time in her schedule for me, and i finally told her it wasn't going to work.
The gym I was seeing her at isn't really convenient any more, so i'm looking for a new gym. I got a month pass at one place that has an awesome pool. I hired a trainer there for 3 sessions to get familiar with the place. She didn't really give me what i wanted out of a trainer (she didn't really listen to what i wanted), and didn't push me enough (i felt). The weights area isn't really that nice, and there is no power rack. But i could maybe make it work.
The other option is a gym close to my new home. I would have to sign a year contract, but in terms of the weight area, it is better equipped. I could find a trainer there.
My other option is a "spendy" gym, that i'm not quite sure i'm ready for. Lots of professional athletes work out there. So i know i would be challenged. It's quite a bit more expensive, and not convenient location wise. But would probably push me more than any where else.
This is long...if you have made it this far...do you have any suggestions?
