I am sooooo struggling. Can't really believe I' ll ever been thin. Been slightly over weight all my life but want to be slim and healthy. I'd love to see photos of people who have been in healthy weight but then lost abou ten pounds. Would also love to be buddies with anyone similar to me.
I'm 48 year year oldvfemale, 5ft 7 and weigh 148 pounds.

Ok. I lost about 15 pounds in six months.
My TDEE is about 1850.
I am 5,7" like you, and 45 years old.
I ate 1600 calories to lose first six pounds and ran/walked once or twice a week( only exercise except some body weight squats) , and I ate about 1700 to 1800 to lose next seven pounds with a run two or three times a week.
For the last three weeks or so I have been lifting weights ( very minimal pushing exercises because I have limitations, and deadlifting 120lbs. ), and am noticing smaller waist, more muscular arms, thighs and butt:)
I think I am having the ultimate newbie gains in muscle because I couldn't use my arms much for the previous six months.0 -
Btw, I am in love with miniature schnauzers!!!0

Seriously? You are at a healthy weight; if you want to tone a bit then start to lift weights to improve your appearance, but 148 lbs at 5 foot 7 is NOT overweight.0

When you did cardio a few times per week - how long do you typically go and do you maintain a certain heart rate? Great work btw0

I lay on the couch taking pain killers for intense awful shoulder pain most of the time, and I ran with the c25k ap once a week... Not following program properly, from October to January. So, once or twice a week starting at 2 minutes of running , ending at 30 minutes... As slow as anyone can run!!! . I have a blog, it shows that I was over 160 lbs and my measurements in early October. I ran 5 km on Jan 1st... Still in pain. Then I trained for a ten km from jan to April. The pain subsided in April. I ran the Vancouver Sun Run feeling fantastic, by then I was down to 142 to 145 pounds. Now I lift. But I can't push much because my shoulder becomes impinged. I can pull higher weight.
Really. If you can lift, lift!!!! There are lots of good supports here on mfp.0 -
I never checked my heart rate and I don't push myself hard when I run.0

But have small bone structure. I'm 36% body fat so I think my weight makes me sound thinner than I am.0
