Dieting, my old friend(or foe).

As the title states, I am not new to dieting. I've been on several different kinds, in fact, but none have worked. I've had multiple professional opinions that I'm dealing with poly-cystic ovarian syndrome but I can't be officially diagnosed until I have provincial healthcare (moved to Canada last year). I'm guessing it's probably why I'm having issues with my weight.

On top of the potential PCOS, I also have digestive problems that have plagued me since I was born including severe acid reflux, GERD, and an extremely sluggish digestive tract. It's interesting finding foods that won't upset my stomach while still remaining within the limitations of a particular diet, while also sticking to a very strict budget. I certainly have my work cut out for me since my husband is along for the ride.

All of this has left me with little to no self-esteem and has started affecting my choice in career. I'm an artist/illustrator by trade, and I've been able to do very little artwork recently. I didn't really notice it until I started disliking something that I'm normally extremely passionate about. This is what queued me in that I need to try to work on my health again.

I just want to get my health on track, period. I'm tired of having terrible self-esteem and living as a shut-in. Even if I can't lose weight like other people, I still want to be able to keep track of what I eat and my exercise, just so I have it in front of me as a record. I like to see the success stories of other people and hear what they've been through as it makes me feel less hopeless in my weight-loss journey. I really hope that I can make a permanent change, this time around. I've lurked in the shadows long enough.

Thank you. I know I'm in for quite the challenge but I know it's for my own good...

...besides..I like challenges. They keep life interesting. Without challenge you never know the feeling of overcoming said challenge. Accomplishment is a wonderful feeling.
