So I am not exactly sure how this works. I was looking at other threads but still am a bit confused on how much I should be eating/exercising to lose a certain amount of weight. All I know is my TDEE is around 3000 calories a day, and my BMR is 2000 calories a day. And I would like to lose 5-8 pounds a month. Can anyone help on how much I should be eating to lose this amount of weight? I am currently eating 1600-2000 calories a day and exercising 500-800 calories a day. Is this too much or too little? Thanks for any help! ^^

When your BMR is 2000-ish, you shouldn´t be eating below that. When you calculated your TDEE, did you set it as `active´? Usually it´s TDEE minus 20 or 15%. Let´s say you go for your TDEE-20%. That means you will be eating 2400 calories a day (wether you work out or not) and NOT eat back your exercise calories, since they are already calculated in.

your BMR is higher than mine - are you sure ?? Height / weight / age / %fat ??

If your TDEE is 3000 then eating 2000 should give 2 lbs/week loss on average, but I'm not convinced it'll be that high really.

500 cals per day approximate 1 lb per week.
