Feeling like a fish out of water

Hi all. Another new person to the program and looking for someone to assist with this nightmare I've gotten myself into (being overweight and over 40). Enjoy getting messages concerning how I'm doing or if I need to back off something a bit (like my Bacardi and colas). Never been on a message board, chat room thingy and need some feedback. Would appreciate any help.
Thanks a bunch!:drinker:

Welcome to the group. Weight Loss/Fitness is a wonderful journey when you have friends to help you along the way. You will find that MFP is a great way to see what you are doing and how well you are doing as well as find motivation and support.
I will send you a friend request0 -
First of all Welcome to the "pond" Feel free to chat vent rant ask questions. You are not alone!! I am fifty two have well over a hundred lbs to lose It is not going to come off ovenight but with following the MFP program and support of fellow members YOU CAN DO IT! Please feel free to add me if you wish. I have only been a member for two weeks I lost four and had a small gain but was told NOT to beat myself up for it because in reality a 1 lb loss a week is actually good. You want to lose but not too fast. Ok sorry I am rambling again..(I tend to do that hehe) Have a great day! Lorrain0

I can relate to over 40 and overweight. I have been on MFP since mid December 2012, got really serious about this the first of the year. So far I am down 48lbs. I still have at least 20 to go to reach the first goal I set. I am now starting to believe it is possible.
My husband and I have a trip to Jamaica planned for the fall and I didn't want to go fat! I may not go skinny but I won't feel like everyone else is skinny and I am the only fat person. lol
My diary is open once we are friends, your welcome to look at it. I do sometimes have a hard time eating all my calories. Just because I am so afraid of going over. I have made quite a few healthy choice changes in the way we eat. However, I still eat what I want just watch the calories. The one thing I would recommend is not going with the 1200 they suggest. Find out what your BMI is and your TDEE (I think that is what it is) and then go down from there. I give myself 1600 calories a day. I seldom eat them all but can and should still lose.
Tell me about yourself. Where are you from? Married, Single, Kids, etc. I am from Michigan, married for the 3rd time and I think it is true what they say about the 3rd time is a charm, I have one son and a step-son. I hate to exercise, but have recently been forcing myself to try to get a routine going so it will come natural eventually. I don't see that happening but I will keep trying. lol

*puts hand up* - 47 and obese - or I was. BMI is as of today 25.8 and I started at 38.3 last summer.
See, if I can do it, anyone can... friend me if you want.0
