1lb off goal stayed the same for nearly 3 weeks

I am 1lb off my goal, woo hoo, only thing is I have stayed the same weight for 3 weeks nearly, which I know is good too, I did up my cals to 1300 and have been nibbling a bit more then usual as I know I am so near, plus it was my birthday and my sons first holy communion.

Part of me really wants to loose that 1lb, which would make me 9st 7lbs, but also part of me thinks I've done so well let's just stay at 9st 8lbs. Have changed my goals again to the mfp numbers, which gives me 1210 cals a day and will see how I go. Part of me would also love to go to 9st 4lbs as I would have lost a 2 stone then!.

Would any of you bother???

My details

Female 5ft 4inch sw 158lbs (11st 4lbs) cw 134lbs (9st 8lbs) gw 133lbs (9st 7lbs) lightly active eat back a few exercise cals.

thanks for listening x

nope i wouldn't bother. plus you need to eat more. I have stayed 3 lbs from my final goal weight for over 5 months now. I can't get there for the life of me, now that i am lifting i will never see it, but i am ok with that as long as i see my body change shape...

You cant pick a goal and stay exactly that weigh forever. Your weight will always fluctuate up and down by as much as 5 lbs in a day. I would bet at 1300 calories you probably are under or very close to just living on your BMR which isn't going to work in the long run. It's probably time to re evaluate your goals, your intake and your long term plan.

    ^^^ Agreed.

Don't let numbers dictate your goal. You either feel good with where you're at or you don't, *kitten* the numbers.

    agreed.

i am 5ft5 and 133lbs and i am losing bodyfat on NET 1800 cals... so i would hazard a guess that you can probably eat a smidge more and still maintain your weight!

Congratulations on your progress! I agree with the others. Don't get so hung up on the numbers. Are you happy with how you look in the mirror and in photographs? Are you happy with how your clothes fit? At this point (ie. once you're a healthy weight), the numbers on the scale are irrelevant.

Even when you are maintaining, you will not be one weight all the time. Weight fluctuates constantly, and you will likely weigh differently on scales that are calibrated slightly differently from yours. As you increase your calories (which I would definitely start doing now) you may well find that you gain a few pounds anyway, as you have more food/waste in your system and retain slightly more water. It's the opposite of what happens when people start losing weight and have a big drop in the first week. Alternatively, you may find that you lose a few pounds, that happens to quite a lot of people too while they are trying to find their true maintenance number.

Thank you everyone, I am happy with how I look compared to how I used to look. I have got too hung up on calories I consume and the number on the scales too. You are all right, as long as I am happy and am healthier then I used to be then the scales do not matter. I shall increase my calorie intake, done the whole bmr/tdee calculations so will change my calorie goal to that.

Thanks again, brilliant advice once again on mfp :o)
