Let go and Let God

Sometimes I try to be a perfectionist. (Ok being totally honest, a lot of the time) I want to get it all done.... to be "on top" of everything. I have to realize that's not life. Life is constantly "going". Moving, changing, things come up. I have days where I can feel overwhelmed and that it's all just piling up. Yesterday was one of them. And when I laid down at the end of the day and took a big breath, I realized I had to LET GO AND LET GOD!
I can't do it all and life isn't perfect, but when I decide to let go and let God, it will all work out. That's my mantra for today!!!
Make it great everyone!!!

I can sooooo relate . When you really let go and let him take the wheel its amazing but also scarey....Also another amazing thing to remember is in this life God wont give us something we cant handle . He will give us trials and Satan as well , they will bend us but in the end God wont break us we will be stronger....Group 1 Crew sings a song " I wont give you more than you can take , i might let you bend but i wont let you break " :)

Atheist here , but I do feel that often we could do with not sweating the little things, and just enjoying that we do have.

Yes exactly no matter your belief... Let go of those little things. They don't matter in the big picture.

Right about the more than can handle. I remind myself of that all the time.

MFP does not allow political talk on here but allows religious talk. Weird. I thought God and politics were two topics to avoid at the dinner table.

When my wife and I decided to "give it another try" on July 1st of last year we discussed what our pitfalls were and what we were missing. Never once in the past did we ask the Lord to be on our journey to better health. Never once did we ask Him for help when we were working out. Never once did I blast Christian music in my ears while working out. Well since we asked God to please bless our journey and to lead us down it...it has been AWESOME! My wife and I are doing things we never dreamed of. I am thankful to Him to say the least! Love you post! :)

Like anything..if you do not like it..do not read it or look at it..that simple. BTW forewarned in the topic sentence so you could of avoided it. Some people just can't sit back and let go I suppose.

I used to stress over the "little things" much more than I do now. I learned to take it easy and let go when my husband would ask me "Is it gonna matter next year, next month, next week, tomorrow?". When I realized that 98% of the crap I worried about wasn't even going to matter tomorrow, it became SO MUCH EASIER to let go of the control and let life go about without my meddling.

Same here. Most of what happens, happens whether you've taken the time to worry about it or not.

I know what you mean. I tend to want to be in control of everything and that perfectionism raises its head a lot. Thank you for the reminder to let go and let God. :flowerforyou:

It's like my momma (who apparently got it from George Carlin) always says, don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff.

Ha! My thoughts exactly. Anyway, t's not a political or religious topic, she is talking about not sweating the small stuff. People of different beliefs are agreeing and chiming in peacefully.

I had this posted on my fridge, it is a bible verse but can be applied to any person of any belief. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." It has helped me through lots of stress and anxiety!

I totally agree. Whatever you consider God/the Universe/Fate... the small stuff just doesn't matter. Some of the big stuff too :)
