Replacements for Greek yogurt
I keep seeing recipes I'd like to try here that call for Greek yogurt as a main ingredient (pancakes, cookies, even muffins, etc).
They all look delicious and I'd really like to try them, but they don't sell Greek yogurt where I live. Is there anything I can use to replace this?

You can put some normal plain yogurt in cheesecloth and let it drain for a couple hours. Then it'll have the same consistency0

if it's in a smoothie and not for baking I use kefir as a replacement so I get the digestive enzymes0

Plain yogurt ...not vanilla. Agree with draining.0

This is what I do I just buy the cheapest no name plain yogurt and strain it. Mostly because I'm cheap and think it's silly to pay twice as much for half the amount. I'm also too cheap/lazy to go buy a cheesecloth so I just use a square of cotton in my colander set over a bowl in the fridge. I like mine really thick so I leave it overnight. I've also used coffee filters in a pinch but the cheesecloth is best. I dump the leftover whey on my compost pile.0 -
