I think this topic is important especially for women to understand since it affects us a great deal. Speaking from experience and listening to other women in my life and on many boards, This is still an issue for most. We are still our own worst critic.
Let me be clear, I am all for improving of oneself to be healthy and fit. However, that is should only be the issue. Not vanity.
As we know, with the media and Hollywood, mainstream seems to make most of us think that we should all fit in this Ideal of what looks good. I have to beg to differ. In my experience in the beauty and fashion industry, it is not realistic and it's just a fantasy. Most of the models and Hollywood alike are airbrushed or photo shopped to look "perfect".
We all come in different shapes and sizes that we are born with. I am not saying don't take care of yourselves, but be realistic. Please don't obsess over ideals or weight numbers or whatever. I say do the best you can to be fit and healthy. Vanity shouldn't be an issue. You shouldn't worry what others think of you. If they don't like you for who you are, that is their problem. You first have to learn how to love yourself for who you are. As long as you know and love yourselves, everything will come into play and nothing else should matter.
If you want to lose weight, don't do it for someone else, do it for you because you want to be healthy. That's all what should matter.
