Weightlifting to burn fat

Hi all, so I've been using MFP for close to two months now, and I'm down around 15lbs (6'0", ~205lbs to 190lbs), but I haven't made any real losses in a couple weeks. I've been minding my intake of sugary beverages and junk food (which I've pretty much cut out entirely), and the first ten or so pounds melted off.
I feel like I've hit a bit of a wall, and was wondering about lifting weights as a way to burn off some more fat and get a bit more muscle tone. I have access to dumbbells at home, and was wondering what sort of exercises would be best for toning up a little. How many sets and repetitions should I start with, what kind of movements I should be using, and so on?
