Why can there not be converstaion on this forum?

The gun thread got locked and it was for the most part a good debate. Only 1 instance I saw of name calling which happens in all other threads. It's pretty ridiculous that discussions can't be had on a discussion board. I guess rate the person above you's dog is the only thing allowed here.

I enjoyed the discussion. But we should be talking about more important topics like - where do you think I work based on my picture.....and what kind of leftovers were in that container you are holding?

Exactly, even the people who totally disagreed weren't being disrespectful, other than 1, and it gets locked. Oh well. So would you marry, date or 1 night stand the person above you I guess?

Because we live in a nanny state where we tell morons they are entitled to have feelings - They abuse this privilege by saying "IM OFFENDED" whenever they have been outsmarted or are just plain wrong.

Religion, politics, guns...it's going to get locked on this forum and pretty much any other forum unless that forum is dedicated to one of those subject. People always get their panties in a bunch about those things and it only takes one bad apple to spoil everything.

It's too bad too...I love watching people get their panties in a wad...it's hilarious.

For example, topics relevant to only one religion should not be placed on the main forums but rather within a group related to that religion. We reserve the right to move any topic to a relevant public Group which interested members may join if they wish to continue to participate.

16. No Political Topics in the Main Forums
Political content is not allowed on the Main Forums. This includes images. Please form or join a Group if you would like to engage in political debate on MyFitnessPal.

Also, this is a free site... Their house, their rules.

The main forum I am on NOTHING gets locked unless you start posting people's personal information that could have bearing on their real life. Guess I am just spoiled.

way too many hall monitors on here that is for sure. I am sure this will get locked soon and I will get a warning, maybe. since I blocked most of the mods it may not come through haha.

I also very strongly agree with this:

I think the mods get oversensitive sometimes about "divisive" topics because you always end up with a few people that will find a rude way to express their opinion. I feel that if someone found a comment that was rude and uncalled for, they should report that comment, and it should be taken care of by the mods, rather than locking/deleting the whole thread.
