I know Im sorry stupid question but I feel like im not doing these insanity workouts correct.

They mean flex your core muscles. Sucking them in isn't the same thing. It's like flexing your arm. Tense the muscles.0

Stand up. Lightly touch your waist about an inch above your hips. Put your tongue against the front of your teeth and then blow out without releasing any air.
The muscles you feel tense are your core stabilizers. Once you've identified them, tense and release them a few times so that you practice control.0
