I need help with getting back on track. How do I get back to eating right and working out when its been almost 3 months since. I really exercised. The drive and motivation I use to have is so bleak.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

i cant tell you how many times ive had week after week of bad food choices and not working out!
even as recently as just this week i made choices that were not in-line with what i want to achieve, which is a healthy mind and healthy body....
today is only day two of being back on track....
i usually start of by planning out a few days of meals and hitting up the grocery store so that i can have what i need to stay successful...
i then plan in an hour of exercise...strength or cardio, it doesn't matter...just something to break out of the lazy habit that so quickly comes back...
i also drink water! lots and lots of water! it helps to flush out the system and get you back on track. it also helps to keep you feeling full...0 -
May has been a bad month for me. It is more than half over and I have had issues probably 50% of the days. Not sure why. I get motivated for a few days then, it is nice outside, I have a glass of wine that turns into a bottle and then I eat. I need to stop drinking as I cannot have just one glass or even two. It turns into a food binge. I then don't sleep good and end up eating the next day due to being tired. A cycle I need to get out of.0

I hear ya! Since the last time I lost weight my life is so different that I didnt ever think I would lose the weight...once I decided to find motivation...I've kept that.
My motivation...my step daughter's mom calls me fat while shes at her mom's. Being my step daughter lives with us...I want her to see me make healthy choices. And slightly so the next time her mom sees me she will crap her pants!0 -
This is probably not going to sound too helpful but you just have to do it - no one can do it for you or come up with the reasons that may motivate you, we all have our own reasons and things that drive us. For me, it's about my health and fitness and not wanting to back slide. I put in a lot of work of the last few years to lose this weight and there is NO WAY that I'm going to go back. Plus for the first time ever in my life I'm actually enjoying excercise, especially running so if nothing else I will continue to exercise.
Have you filled out those sections of your profile page on the left? If not, you need to put some serious thought into answer and fill them out. This is a valuable tool because it's a place you can go back to time and time again to remind yourself why you want to do this.
In my experience, getting skinny or getting to a certain size just wasn't enough motivation. But getting healthy, lowering my cholesterol, getting fit/strong, being able to run in 5ks (or longer) - those have stuck. Also, I have a friend who is a breast cancer survivor and does races and triathlons and I figure if she can do it after going through all that, what excuse do I have?!
You can do this - start now!!0 -
Fake it till you make it. You can't sit around and wait for the motivation. You have to make the choice to start right now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Right now. Eat right and exercise whether you're motivated or not and the motivation will follow.
Start small if you need to. Get in 10 minutes of exercise a day. It's a good bet that once you start you'll end up doing a little more and a little more until you're back in your routine.
Take things day by day. Tell yourself that today you'll make good choices. You may eat an entire cake tomorrow, but today you'll make a healthy choice instead. Rinse and repeat tomorrow and the next day and the next until your brain catches up with you.0 -

I love this - thx0 -
You have to just put one foot in. I have started and stopped so many times and this time while I may skip a day of working out or I don't make a great food choice, I don't let it derail me. I start again the next day. Starting is always the hardest part, so don't let a bad day turn into a bad week or a bad month. Tell yourself you'll workout for 10 minutes....betcha you won't stop at 10!0

Start slow.
When I joined MFP, The only "exercise" I got was walking at work.
So go walk for 15 minutes each day...... go a little longer if you have the energy...... at a little time each week.
It's like the Zumba class..... Everyone works at their own pace. The goal is to just keep moving.0
