Can i count my calories without MFP?

i tryed and tryed to use mfp but my phone is veeery slow( first thing) and i don t really know how to use measurements like CUPS and that stuff, i m from europe, i only know about GRAMS , it might sound very stupid but really.maybe i have a problem..so...it s working if i.m simply counting calories..?like- i go on a random site or google and i search for " how many cals are in...." and i write it down. Is it working? Please don t laugh:)

most of the MFP entries have grams too if you drop down the Serving size thingy.

You can do it on a PC via the website too if the phone app is too slow.

Most packets of things will tell tell you how many calories there are per 100g or per servings. Look at the nutrition info.

Of course you can manually count your calories. If you know the calorie count of what you're eating, have the portions right (however you measure them) and add them up manually, using MFP, one of the other online calculators, etc. it's the same. MFP is just a tool (a great tool!) to help.

We use grams in Canada too, I've never had a problem finding grams on the MFP calculator. The barcode scanner is great too.

It's good to be able to just count them without mfp because when the power goes out I don't have the internet so then I have to manually write them down so it's not a bad habit to do. After a while you will know how many calories are in what. you can keep a list of your favorite foods with the amount of calories they are on hand and this will help you too once you figure out how many calories they are.

Don't forget, you can scan barcodes as well (assuming you have a wee camera on your phone). Makes adding food pretty easy if the food is in the database.
