Barre Work Sans Barre

I tired to search for this and didn't get what I was looking for, if this has been answered elsewhere, please show me the link and I'll check it out.
I'm working on the whole body sculpting through body weight work deal and I find the ballet and ballet inspired programs (Bar Method, Barre 3, Ballet Beautiful) to be the most fun and effective and I get to sort of relive the days when I got to dance all day. The thing is I don't have a ballet barre, yet, or even a suitable chair. The only chair I have has wheels on it.
If I do the work free standing am I putting myself at risk for muscle strain or injury or missing the benefit of a fuller range of motion or am I actually getting more of a workout since I have to do the work as well as balance and support myself.
Thanks in advance, everyone.

I love Barre 3. I also do it without a ballet barre. Just a chair. I'd be a little careful of one with wheels, but I think you should be okay. It's a great workout.0

Can you jam the wheels of the chair?0

The wheels scare me. I don't trust it not to roll away when I'm leaning on it lol0

I've checked, it doesn't have wheel breaks.0
