Some slight frustration and a lack of motivation...

I started Zombies, Run! at the beginning of this year, but had to put my exercise and focus on weightloss on hold while I finished school and worked full time.

Fast forward three months and I'm up ten pounds and really having trouble getting back into the swing of my everyday workouts. Couple that with stress from my boss who left work to treat her compulsive over-eating disorder, and now that she is back she chastises me for being upset with myself for the 10lb gain (I'm not upset, it's a natural consequence and now I want to fix it!) and is constantly undermining my efforts by bringing mass amounts of chocolate, skittles, starburst, bakery goods and pizza into the office everyday. We're also not seeing eye to eye on some work issues, causing me undue stress.

I don't even know what to say to her, I don't want to hurt her feelings. She obviously has an eating disorder, but I feel her therapist isn't tackling it properly. I say this as someone who focused much of her studies on eating disorders while working towards a Bachelor's in Psychology. Currently she refuses to know her weight and it appears to her staff that she is well over 300lbs now, probably 40-50 lbs over what she was before she sought treatment.

Someone buck my spirits up and give me some words of motivation! What motivates you? Because my old tricks aren't cutting it right now...

My motivation comes from setting and working towards goals. I love to see my health, body, and performance improve with effort. I may push it more than most, but if you're achieving goals you set for yourself you'll be happy with yourself and "easily" tune out the negative. I say, put a goal up where you'll see it, and go for it.

I hear you on the being tempted by free food at work. I work with a number of extremely overweight people who are constantly bringing pizza, donuts, candy, etc. into the office for open consumption. It's tough to turn down the free food, particulalrly when I'm hungry anyway. I just have to put my blinders on. It helps for me to remember how much I've lost already and remind myself that I don't want to be a part of that group again (many of them have diabetes and other health concerns that I was on the way towards developing when I decided to lose the weight). Stay focused. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies! I have a few goals I'm working towards right now. No real movement on the scale yet, but I feel much better. :)
