okay, so im 22, 195 pounds 6' 2" and i think i'm decently active, not really on the excercise part at the moment, but thats about to change, im pretty tall and lanky, but im filled out in my torso, not fat, pretty much what i should be.
however heres the thing, all my life i've never been one for fruits or veggies. literally, i dont eat them, and really havent since i was about 4 or younger. i dont believe i've ever consumed a salad. i cant stand the texture of fruits or veggies, and i tend to gag on them constantly, i've tried them numerous times, as my fiance LOVES fruit, veggies, smoothies, etc. she could eat them all day.
heres my question, im wanting to start working out, mainly for my overall health at this point, i quit smoking cigarettes almost 2 years ago, so i'm wanting to start my cardio again, and i'm also wanting to gain some muscle and tone, of course.
i read that the key to getting in shape is 80% nutrition and 20% excercise.
is this correct?
if so, how can i still become healthy, and yet manage to not eat the actual fruits and veggies? stuff like v8 juice disgusts me.
i would like to eat them, i've ordered salad at restaraunts and gotten steamed veggies on the side numerous times, i just cant bring myself to actually do it. how harmful is this to my overall body, that i'm depriving it of fruits and veggies??
any advice is welcome and appreciated thanks!

There is no way, other than to just eat them. Fruit and veg is necessary if you want to improve your health.
You could try putting them into a soup? I normally find that the veg I can't stand I will quite happily eat in a soup. Also, try mixing your veg into meals. For example, I put peppers in my curries, mix peas and carrots in my cottage pie, etc. I like veg but I find it's a good way of getting more in.0 -
I think it's at least 80% nutrition. If not 90%.
As far as the vegetables and fruits -- Wow. None at all? Not even fruit? Spaghetti sauce? Juice? Banana peanut butter shake? Mashed sweet potato with a little butter and cinnamon sugar?
It doesn't have to be steamed veggies or salad if you don't like those things.0 -
Cauliflower cooked, mashed and mixed with mashed potatoes is pretty well disguised. I would suggest small steps. Eat a little bit. If you can stand them mushy, try that. But there is really no way to get the nutrition required without eating fruits and veggies. Experiment. There are a lot of choices out there.0

Sorry to sound harsh but stop acting like a child and eat fruit and vegetables. There are so many ways to prepare them and so many different types people who say they don't like them are just looking for excuses not to change. You don't have to eat salad and steamed veg there are many other ways to prepare them get some good cook books or Google some recipes. If as you say you want to get healthy then you need to eat them it's as simple as that.0
