I am wanting to buy a product that can tell you how much calories you burn while you work out, but there is so many out there to choose from. I have seen people talk about the Polar F4 and I have seen good and bad reviews. Any insight from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

There is no one reliable method outside of a lab. Every method has a degree of error. The problem with HRMs is that for the majority (other than really expensive ones) their calorie estimation formula is based on steady state exercise. Outside of that the degree of error is larger.
A good blog

I suggest the same thing i always do , go on amazon, look at the ones available, read the reviews, then
buy the best rated one you can comfortably afford,
personally i use fitbit, its NOT a HRM though , its just a pedometer, and then i use phone aps, like track my ride track my run , etc .
and for me , that works,0 -
Thanks for the suggestions. I was just looking at fitbit0
