Hello everyone!
So I'm a muslim and as some of you may already know, we have this month of the lunar calendar called "Ramadan".
We basically fast everyday in that month from dawn till sunset. Fasting = Not eating/drinking anything.
I've been on a weight loss journey since 3-4 weeks and I feel great!
I need some tips on how my eating routine should be in Ramadan. Focus on some macros? Specific eating times?

Any help will be highly appreciated!

Thanks!

Less carbs and higher protein and fat will help with satiety.

Good luck. Most of my Muslim friends here in the US don't do as well with Ramadan because of their high stress jobs.

Just ate all your macros for a day when you can, at any time from sunset until dawn. So if usually you do ate lets say 4 meals a day what have like 2000 cals in total then when fasting you ate same amount of everything, only it two or one big meals. I do this all the time, it's called intermittent fasting, that's basically what Ramadan is as well. Nothing changes, only meal times and size. Your weight loss, health or muscle gains will not be effected by meal times and size, unlike some popular myths may suggest.
  • Lots of fruits veggies and protein.

That's how my boyfriend deals with Ramadan. He's tried different things each year and high protein really keeps him full longer. Just watch your times and try to eat it in intervals, if you can, instead of stuffing your face for just one meal - he eats right at sundown, and about 20 minutes before sun up.

We'll see how he does this year with his change in job and now nursing school on top of it. It all depends on when his classes are and his breaks from work are, since he's not allowed to eat at his desk and works evenings (3 PM - 11 PM). He'll usually eat before bed, then wake up 30 mins before sun up, eat, and go back to bed again. When he worked nights it was great, he could eat all night at work, and sleep all day so it didn't really affect him.
