It seems after I swim or lift weights I end up "hungry like a wolf". Nothing is satisfying this hunger. Does anyone else get super hungry after...

I always get hungry after swimming too, and I crave rootbeer. I realized it's cause when I was a kid, my dad would always buy rootbeer after I was done swimming at the local pool. It's weird too because I don't even really like rootbeer, or any sodas.0

YES! Swimming makes me SO hungry! I never know what to do to solve that problem. I guess that's why swimmers are notorious for not losing fat-- the appetite increase just gets too intense. If anyone has any advice on how to fix this problem, that would be amazing.0

I wish my HRM monitor would work in water so I can find out how many calories it burns. It is definitely a full body workout and works like every muscle group.0 -
i lift like crazy and do cardio and find myself hungry all the time no matter what i eat!0

I train hard and eat a lot. Nothing wrong with fueling the work... there's no way I could sustain a deep deficit. Make sure you are, in fact, eating enough...0

I eat 2100 calories to lose weight and 2500 to maintain. I lost 35 lbs eating 2100 calories/day and running 5-6 days a week. Now I do a combined 5-7 hours of running, martial arts and heavy lifting over 5 days of the week. I'm at 2200 calories daily right now but working back up to maintenance to prepare for a race.
EDIT: If your MFP target is 1470, you're supposed to eat those plus the calories added from exercise. All your weight loss will come from your NEAT burn (non-exercise activity thermogenesis)... everything else: cooking, showering, driving, moving around, watching TV, going up and down stairs, etc. I burn about 700 calories daily in NEAT alone.0 -
I feel like swimming turns me into a different person! I have such a great time being in the water, but the second I'm out I blindly eat everything within a five mile radius. I consider not swimming at all because I don't know if it is worth it in the long run!0

Something that helps my hunger after swimming is a protein/fiber/mct/greens shake. I do it as soon as I get out of the pool, it zaps hunger fast so that when I do sit down to a meal I am not consuming 5000 cals in one sitting.
I agree swimming makes you ravenous. Just a good sign that it is an awesome workout.0 -

Is the protein/fiber/mct/greens shake something you make or you buy? I'll have to try it.0 -
