Does Zumba help build muscle? Also, does any one have a particularly good Zumba DVD they would recommend?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Zumba can help create a caloric deficit which will lead to fat burning which will show the muscle you already have, but Zumba will not build any significant amount of muscle.0

Zumba is definitely my favorite gym class, but with a bum knee I have had to forgo it for a while.
Really miss it.
Strength? Yes, muscle? Not really...
It does however provide an amazing workout and tones what you have in a very fast and effective and FUN way. It can make you stronger, and it is awesome for balance but it is more a core strength building cardio program, with some light resistance added for extra effect...it really helps with weight loss. The calorie burn is crazy high.
To build muscle you need to bear weight, not just your own weight, but additional weight as in lifting.0 -
I take Zumba regularly and it does not build muscles but you burn and incredible amount of calories quickly!0
