Travelling OverSeas. HELP! How can I stay on track?!?

I went to America from New Zealand for a week. My plan was to just do the best I could.
I blew some poor ladies mind when I refused the sides of macaroni cheese and fries with my slice of pizza. I had lots of fruit salad. Easy to find prepackaged at most places.
I figured all the extra walking I was doing made up for any meals that weren't super great. Came back 2 kg lighter.
Where did you find a restaurant that served mac and cheese and fries as sides to a slice of pizza? I've never seen this before. Most pizza places, if they serve anything at all with a pizza, serve a side salad. I love mac and cheese, but it's complete overkill with pizza.
OP, I think you'll find once you get there that it will be pretty easy to stay disciplined and on track if you avoid too much time in pubs with your colleagues. You've been eating smaller portions for a month, so even if you can't weight and measure things, you have a decent idea of portion sizes that you want to consume. Stay active, try to avoid alcohol, and hit the gym when you can.
Just keep telling yourself that you can, and you will. Have an enjoyable and productive trip.0 -

find a market somewhere and buy some fresh fruit to have for snacks - no need to refrigerate! bring some healthy snacks with you from home too, like nuts, protein bars, etc. i like to take a few ziplock bags with almonds that i've already counted out. easy to just grab in the morning and throw in my purse. make sure to drink plenty of water too! oh and maybe your hotel will have a pool or a workout room? you can use those to do some kind of activity.
i would personally try to mostly stay away from breads and pastas while eating out, but i wouldn't kill myself over it if i ate a bread stick. don't be afraid to enjoy the culture! i'm sure there will be plenty of salad/veggie options as well as lean meats. fish and chicken! enjoy your trip, and don't get down on yourself!0 -
If you eat out, i'd recommended Nandos....unless you dislike chicken, then maybe not.0
