I am interested in purchasing a FitBit, but don't have a smart phone. Am I still able to use one? Or is there a different brand that may be a better fit? Thanks!

I just bought a Fitbit and don't have a smart phone. It works just fine. It's interesting and motivating to see total steps, flights of stairs, calories burned, and nukes miles walked for each day. It has its own website with more information. I particularly like the graph of weight lost and goal. You can also hook it up to MFP. If you get one, ask for some help from someone more experienced than I am. I don't remember any instructions; my daughter set it up for me.

Ignore the Nukes in my last post - spastic fingers. A lot of people have a Fitbit, and they like it. I haven't heard about any other devices that people like.

There are only a few/select smartphones that you can sync your fitbit with (mine isnt one of them) and you really dont need a smartphone. The fitbit will come with a sync dongle that you plug into USB port in your PC or Laptop and then whenever you are close to that PC and the PC is on the fitibt will sync. I have the fitbit ONE (and i love it) then it has a display screen so without syncing to the PC I can still look at the screen to see how many steps I have in for the day. I totally recommend the fitbit!

You set it up with a USB dongle on your PC. I think you can buy extra ones so if you want to keep one at work? Anyway, no smart phone needed.
