Are there any ways to put off hunger ?

I tried tightening my abs for 20 seconds 3x
Watching YouTube Vlogs, playing on Garage band, playing sonic and drawing

1:20am and can't sleep.

    If you are so hungry it's driving you insane you could have something like a boiled egg and some greens. The protein in the egg will help the hunger go away and the greens will make you feel full.

    Are you craving something specific? If so, you're not actually hungry. If you aren't craving something specific, then grab something to eat.

    Drink water. Or chew gum. It'll help ease off the craving :) Water is still the best, though.

    Make some tea. Green tea with jasmine, or other non caff teas are usually zero calories, mostly water, but seem like you're eating something. Good luck.

    Try chia seeds made into "pudding." I put 1 3/4 tablespoons in either 1 cup water or 1 cup almond milk and let it sit a while in the fridge. A few hours works best. I must say, nothing I've ever consumed has so little calories and keeps me comfortable and full for so long. Made with water, it has only 105 calories for the whole cup of chia pudding, and with the almond milk, it still only adds another 30 or so, depending on the type of almond milk you use.

    If you are so hungry that it's all you can think about, just eat something. Make a good choice, eat it, log it, stop freaking out, and go to bed. It will all seem like a hunger-pain filled dream in the morning. ;)

    If your diary is correct, you missed lunch and you are over 400 calories UNDER. That is why you are hungry. You can eat all those 400 cals and not even feel guilty. No fun being hungry, so just eat please

    If you're actually legitimately hungry it's because your body needs the food and you shouldn't be trying to ignore it.

    ^^^Yup, as cold as you can stand it and lots at a time. I'm talking pint, quart, liter, etc. I'll sometimes drink 24-32 oz of ice cold water within 2-3 minutes and then go do something. If at least 10 min passes and I still feel hungry, then I got eat but I prelog first to see how it fits my macros.

    *ETA: If it's not too late in the day, I'll do cardio (e.g. treadmill). It has an appetite suppressant effect on me, but YMMV.

    Try BCAA. Bodybuilders use it. They are a select group of proteins. There is some research that says it makes hunger go away.

    You're very hungry, possibly low blood sugary, and you're going to have a hard time making good food decisions like that.

    Go get a piece of fruit, like an apple or an orange, and have that to start. Then pick yourself something that fits in your calorie budget.

    Hunger comes in waves, it does not appear and then build until satiated. It will go again.

    I agree that if you have undereaten and you are following a calorie restricted diet, you should eat.

    There are loads of people on here doing 5:2, alternate day and other types of intermittent fasting. Hunger is normal, bearable and temporary. I lost weight through doing 5:2 and soon learned that the empty feeling is not a problem, I just drink herbal tea and if I fancy something to eat that I cannot have as part of my 500 cals that day, I just tell myself 'I'll have that tomorrow!'

    Do this, try eating protein with some greens that are high in fiber

    Eat something! You could have a little bowl of soup or a bowl of salad for under 100 calories and it won't affect your weight loss. Being hungry and not sleeping will get you frustrated with the diet and might cause you to overeat in future.

    I agree with the Chia seeds they will make you feel full. Otherwise coconut oil if you can stand it. I ate a snack and then dinner and was feeling very hungry still and could have eaten a lot more. I ate a desertspoon full of coconut oil (125 cals) and within five mins carb craving was gone. I like it and can eat it from the spoon. It also metabolises quickly to energy in the liver.

    This is a trick question, right?

    "I'm hungry" -- well, golly gee, eat something. That's what happens when you're 400 calories short of your daily goal. It ain't rocket science.
