My mom is trying to get me to do a 3 day juice cleanse with her . I really don't want to ,I know what i do lose i'll just gain back and i'd rather keep doing what i've been doing..It may be a slow progress, but i'm getting healthy and making a life style change. I've lost 9 lbs and have 16 lbs left to lose.along with getting stronger with exercise and going from a 12/14 to a 10 now. Mom has been under alot of stress for a week and went off some medicene. She's dropped 11-14 lbs last time i saw her as it is and looks sickly. She even had to go out and buy new clothes because she dropped so much so fast and hasn't been wanting to eat. I think the cleanse's will just be worst for her but she won't listen

Because too many people refuse to educate themselves about science and biology. They want to believe is magic cures and fixes instead of just hard work. They want to believe the claims because they make promises.
Good for you for not falling for these things and doing it in a healthy way.0 -
Not much you can do. She's an adult and will make her own [uninformed] decisions. Just be there when the inevitable happens and keep doing things the right way.0

She's asked me so many tmes and advice and she use to go to the gym with me but all of it stopped. It was rough growing up with her too. It was all about weight and if you didnt look a certain way or weigh a certain weight didn't get to do stuff. My grandmother was the same way and they always got on my sister or complained about her eatting and beIng bigger and make jokes. She even tries to get on me and complain about my children's weight they're 7,3,2 & 1 and healthy0

i get it. i mean, after a few bad days of heavy eating, lots of drinking, and no water or fruits and veggies, i feel bloated and gross and sluggish. a lot of people will do this friday to sunday... so monday they feel crappy.
so they want to do a cleanse. i know from personal experience that some water and good eating will help me feel better in a day or two.0 -
Ask your mom to cleanse your house. That's what I ask mine to do. Usually works once or twice a year.
you can just say you are doing a cleanse, then dump that juice down the drain and eat some solid food.0 -

That's what i'm probably going to do . I keep telling her that i dont want to do it and she keeps saying she'll pay for it and she needs someone to do it with.0 -

Well that's just plain crazy, you're going to pretend to do it but chuck it away?! Come on now, just tell her one last time you aren't interested and not to ask you again, if she asks again ignore her.0 -

Your way, you end up with truth and honesty and maybe get to the root of some problems.
My way, you end up with a clean kitchen.0 -
Be straight with her and stand your ground. No means no, even if it's your mother. Your an adult now..... Cleanses aren't good for you. It sounds like you're doing things the healthy way so don't change. Don't break that habit. If you realize how hard it was growing up with somebody berating you for your weight and now it's starting with your kids all over again then you need to break the cycle. You need to tell her to stop. It's bad for their self image. Grandma is somebody they're going to look up to and if she's calling them fat (or whatever word she uses) then it's only going to cause problems with their self image and possibly lead to them being obese or having eating disorders. You have to put your foot down.0

Yea she espically gets on my daughters weight and she will be 4 in less then a month. All she wants is fruits,Vegetables cheese and peanut butter we can't get her to eat meat or eggs..
billsica a clean kitchen doesnt last long around here with my 4 kids my husband and his friends
She asked me again today then rushed me off the phone because she knew what my answer was going to be and headed out to my brother's.. she tries to guilt trip me because she knows i have a hard time telling people no ( been working on it ) then she tries to blame it on needing to do this and going through a rough time with the divorce0 -

I am sorry you have to deal with this. Good for you for breaking the cycle.
Will she listen to reason as to why juice cleanses are useless, expensive, and wasteful?0 -
No she won't the first few tmes she asked me. I've tried to tell her but she won't listen and is stubborn0
