Coconut water is AWESOME for smoothies with out the sugar and fat and it is low cal. I make blueberry and spinich, or whatever fruit you want and some low sugar protein powder. Some days I just have a fruit smoothie and a hard boil egg.
Crustless quiche
Avacado, egg and bacon (like egg salad but use the avacado like mayo) add tomatoes if you like.
Dinner for breakfast (you don't have to have just breakfast foods)
Paleo Pancakes (check out paleomg.com) she has a ton of non dairy, gluten free recipes.
Hope that helps.0 -
1 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup oatmeal
4 eggs
1) blend in a magic bullet/food processor
2) make pancakes
3) ????
4) PROFIT
I follow the recipe part. Up until the next part......huh? Anyways, Cottage cheese is not really my thing. I would have the squirts for about a month. A lot of people on here are suggesting eggs mixed with something. Great recipes, a lot of different directions. I will definitely try some. BTW---does the Rocky Balboa method work? I have always wanted to try that!0 -
QUICHE!!! filling and so many delicious varieties under 300 per serving...0

The sugar thing is my dilemma too, I don't want to stop having milk and cereal ,so I've found this to be helpful ,cut your cereal in half ,cut your milk in half ,I use 1% lowfat (110 calories 1 cup) 1/2 =55 calories ,hopefully you use a cereal with at least 3grms of fiber or more ,cut the cereal in half ,and watch the sugar content in your orange juice ,and fruits, try trop50 orange juice (reduced sugar ) if not cut your orange juice in half also ,hope that helps.smile:
I should also mention that I am over 215 lbs.....Cutting things in half is very hard to do at my weight, as it takes a lot of energy to power my body, and to satisfy my appetite. I want to find something that I dont really have to cut down on quantity as much , but still be eating healthy. As suggested, I could eat the same amount of Oatmeal, but not be eating the same amount of sugar, nor the calories. If there was a miracle food that I could eat all the time, and love it all the time, and it would give me only the things I need, that would be ideal! :laugh:0 -
On a good day - a cheerios type cereal with 1/2 cup milk, OJ & coffee. Sometimes I will add two slices of toast - sourdough is my favorite. On a bad day, I will make bacon & eggs.0

Any 8th grader that paid even a little attention in biology knows this is ABSOLUTELY FALSE. Perhaps you attended school during a time when we didnt have the knowledge and information we do today. I am also a fitness professional, and am stunned by this statement. It is scary-wrong and i would recommend until you brush up on your science to stay off the boards to protect these innocent members looking for help.
Lactose is a Disaccharide (sugar) that is found in milk. Its made from galactose and glucose. Lactase (enzyme) metabolizes lactose quickly allowing the glucose to elevate blood sugar levels resulting in an insulin spike if enough is present
This information is NON-DEBATABLE
FACE PALM!!!! :explode:
You just spoke chinese to the uneducated gringo. What does that mean to me? I am not a diabetic0 -

A video about sugar metabolism, interesting but a little bit long, it worth to watch I think!0 -
Hi....I have recently gotten rid of bread from my diet, and I am having trouble on breakfast. I am trying to watch my sugar intake in the morning. I know that milk is pretty much filled with it, and if you combine it with a few servings of cereal, you have already hit the home stretch in the sugar column, and it is only 7am.
I do like to have some eggs, turkey sausage or bacon, and then maybe some orange slices. I stopped eating boxes pancakes. What are some other good breakfast ideas so that I can stray away from packing on the breakfast sugars, but still have good energy for the day? Should I abandon milk? I am trying to stay under 700 calories.
Hiya Wilson....my goto breakfast has always been....2 egg omelet, cheese, either sausage or bacon....sometimes both if I'm not going to eat for awhile, some onions or mushrooms, a little dab of sour cream on top...very filling, very low carb. Now its hard/expensive to eat this every day so I alternate this Bfast with a protein shake usually every other day. Also if you don't mind splenda or Truvia or other natural low cal sweetner and you love milk, unsweetened almond milk with a packet or 2 of sweetner is really awesome with my chocolate protein powder. Almond milk unsweetened has less than 3 grams of carbs/sugar. Very low carb and really tasty.0 -
One of my favorites is blueberries and sliced strawberries sprinkled with stevia. I mix it with about 2-3 tablespoons of reduced fat sour cream and sprinkle my favorite granola or sliced almonds over the top. It tastes like a dessert, but it is filling and healthy.
Ok, so I'm new here and I'm having a tough time incorporating fruits without going WAY over on my sugars. How do you have blueberries and strawberries and not go over your sugar allowance?
Thank you so much!0 -
I ususally have Source yougurt with fresh fruit for breakfast, however I also have egg white omlette, Kashi organic cereal etc.. btw try using almond milk or soy milk, I was using 1% partly skimmed and your right full of sugar...who knew LOL
Good Luck0 -
How about blueberry pancakes. 3 massive pancakes at under 400 calories. Let me know if you want the recipe
Porridge is one of my favourites. (oats)
Garlic mushrooms on hi fibre toast.
Chicken thigh grilled with tomato, mushrooms and spinach if I'm heading straight to the gym.0 -
1 cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch mixed with Greek yogurt - I use Chobani. Quick, easy and 600 calories packed with protein and fiber.0

In my personal opinion, MFP's sugar/carb requirement ratio is somewhat skewed and unrealistic. If you are getting your carbs and, in turn, sugars from good, unprocessed sources like fruits and veggies I wouldn't worry too much about the sugar. Since all carbs are eventually converted to sugars in our bodies, I recommend just focusing on staying within the prescribed carbohydrate requirement.0

I don't see how you can have hundreds of cals. with skim milk and low-sugar cereal. That's what I have every day and stay under 200 cals for breakfast. Not bad to throw a few berries or half a banana in to keep to full well into the a.m.0
