Should I work on Strictly Cardio or strength as well?

Hi,
My goal is to get my abs back. I need to loose some weight. My UG is 110. My CG is 115. I am CW at 119-121 depending on the day. My question is, should I concentrate more on cardio right now to burn fat (I would like to loose a lot on my legs and then more on my stomach) then once I've accomplished that, start on strengthening and toning? Or should I be doing both at the same time?

for me i do both................one morning and one evening. But what i have read is that you can do one in the morning and the other in the evening. or you can incorporate both.............or try one week cardio only and the other week cardio plus strengh training.....but I think you should ask someone who knows more than me since i am not an expert.

I would work on building your lean body mass at the same time... A lot of people that I'm friends with on here strictly lift and do no cardio and ... have still been able to cut it up massively!

knowing what I know now, and doing what I've done for the last 9 months, I think strength training provides the most benefits. You don't need cardio to burn fat, because muscle helps your metabolism increase. If you want to do cardio, I would highly recommend to pair it with strength training.

It's all person dependent... it's what you want to do. But... I've made my stomach muscles pop through with the addition of lifting 4 days a week for the last month. :)

cardio is a substitution for eating less as far as weight loss goes. there is no substitution for lifting.

Okay, I've never really lifted before. What would you recommend? I need options for at home stuff and stuff at the gym. I have a free trial at a gym so I can use it until that's over, so I'll need at home stuff as well. Recommendations? :)

Well you know the cliche' about the right tools for the right job. In this case the right job is going to depend on exactly what your goals are.
