Alcohol Free Wine...

For those that know me, you could not pay me to drink wine with no alcohol. But my sister is 9 months pregnant in some hellish heat and ready to burst. I assure you she would take anything that even remotely tastes like wine.
Also...there is more to wine that mixing grape juice and alcohol. :noway:0 -
For all those who ask "what's the point???"...
Many of us choose to live alcohol free but still enjoy the taste, ritual and health benefits of wine. Nonalcoholic wine has the same health benefits of lowering cholesterol and decrease risk of heart disease as the "real stuff".
Peace,

More importantly, where can I find calorie free wine WITH alcohol?!0

Alcohol is rated a carcinogenic as tobacco is. When you tell people you quit smoking they cheer and congratulate you, when you tell people you quit drinking they think you're crazy. Your body thinks alcohol is poison but somehow not drinking is strange.0

I have tried alcohol-free wines, but I haven't found one I like yet. None of them taste like wine to me. I love the taste of dry wine (Merlot and Chardonnay are my favorites), but wine tends to mess with my sleep cycles. Plus, I'm not fond of the alcohol effect. This is not a matter of *can't" drink alcohol, but more a matter of preference.
OP: Your question is valid, and shared by others.0 -

Funny, but isn't happening. Because of this:
"Alcohol contains 7 calories per gram. By comparison, carbohydrate and protein provide 4 calories per gram while fat contains 9 calories per gram. In addition, calories from alcohol provide no nutritional value.

We're a family of winos... and my SIL recently found out she was pregnant so she's been trying various alcohol free wines so that she can "drink" with us. Most of them she said taste like weird flavored grape juice and not at all like wine.
Her favorite was a sparkling wine which she said tasted the closest to a wine/sparkling wine yet. I just threw out the rest of it the other day (I like my wine with alcohol LOL) but I think it was from Ariel.
No idea about the calorie content though.0 -
Thanks Rach I will check it out0
