I'm pretty sure I'm wayyyy over-thinking this and it's probably a dumb question, but I'm really anal about my calorie counting lately.

Typically, I cook 8 ounces of boneless skinless chicken breast in 1 tablespoon of olive oil for dinner. Though, I've never known how to factor the calories exactly. I know 8 oz of chicken is about 240 calories and 1 tablespoon of olive oil is 120 calories. Does it come out to 360 calories...like do I count all of the calories in the olive oil? Do some of the calories in the olive oil get cooked away? Or is it more calories for some reason? Like I said, probably a dumb question!

  • If you use the food database up top it has it all listed so you can easily figure out how many calories the chicken and olive oil are.

I'm not sure of an exact answer, but I know that all of that olive oil isn't on your chicken, some is cooked away possibly or left in the pan.

I'm curious as to how this works too, I just log it normally with what I used, I never thought about it that way.
