Ok, so here's the Q....I guess it would be better to wear more clothing to sweat more during a workout...but is it bad to work out in next to nothing?! LOL!! I ask because when I work out in my home I sweat my *kitten* off and man I'm constantly washing clothes and get heated faster. I feel better if I workout in my sports bra, insulated gym belt, and some boy shorts (my underoooooos). Am I stopping something good here by doing this???

You just made a lot of people smile.
Stay away from windows and you can wear as little as you want
It's better to be comfy and do more exercise than uncomfy and just sweat.
sweating alone only helps with water loss.
  • I dress light. It gives me more freedom, and allows me to show off my sexy bod. (ha!) I am a cyclist, so in summer, I dress light, but in winter, I wear a sweater. If I am always going against cold air, my pores cannot let out sweat, so I have to wear something over my body to allow the pores to release sweat. warm weather.....not necessary

I say lose the chonies chica. Boy shorts crawl up the anal cleft, causing excessive friction.

haha totally get this. when i jog outdoors i like to wear least as possible but since im not where i need to be physically i have to settle for tank tops and shorts. when the winter and fall comes i usually drop to a capri or pant and keep the tank top simply because it is cold LOL

i would say they are a bit more like boxers that i workout in. i dnt work out in my actual panties LOL not what i would wear out on the town. More like what I would comfortable sleep in. I def have no problem with "diggin draws" out while im exercising cuz thats the least of my worries

In my bedroom... sports bra and undies. Maybe more in the winter, but for now, it's too hot... and it means more laundry.

I must be weird because I find that pajamas are the best workout clothes for me. They are light and let your skin breathe.

I'm a weirdo clearly. I wear MORE to work out in because I want to sweat hard. Yoga pants, Tshirt and jacket
The jacket is off as soon as I'm done though

    That's just a myth!
  • I have a gym in my finished basement, so I weightlift and do my cardio in the privacy of my home............nude. I've exercised nude for years and find it to be very comfortable. No sticky clothes or elastic waist bands to restrict movement. And I do work up a sweat. I keep an old beach towel handy to wipe my brow. Wouldn't exercise any other way. I chuckle when I watch exercise video's and see the trainers constantly adjusting their clothes. Exercise nude and you don't have that problem.

Now I'm feeling like I had a stroke of genius when I strted working out like this lol. I guess it's also a great time to let your body breathe and get some fresh air. Here's to anothe Zumba workout in my skimmies!
  • I understand the need for a certain part of a woman's anatomy to be supported especially when doing something like Zumba, so a sports bra or something else may be desirable, but other than that, in the privacy of your own home, why wear anything else?

hahahahaha I LOVED Napolean Dynamite lol. The fact you actually bought some flag pants and where them is awwwwwwesome lol. If I went ot the gym I would def wear more clothing LOL. I just didn't know if maybe I was preventing my body from getting more accomplished if I sweat more. And yes, during any exercise as a woman sports bras ARE needed lol. I wouldn't workout without one

More clothing will help you sweat less sometimes. If the fabric can soak up water it actually will help you sweat less in those parts!

Sweating more just means your body temperature is higher. It doesn't mean you burn more calories. Do yourself a favor and get something like Nike Dri-Fit clothing. You'll feel much cooler wearing this than wearing no shirt at all. It really wicks the water off your body and makes you feel dryer and cooler. Great stuff.

Sounds good to me! I was looking at some of the items they had in our store couple days ago. Have to probably start out with a couple pieces because the shirts I was looking at alone were $17 which would be costly for me because I do NOT believe in putting the same nasty sweaty clothes on the next day to workout in. I wash everything I work out in the same night or the first thing when I get up in the morning. Can't stand sticky, wet, sweaty clothing. IICKKK

Underarmour and several other brands have good stuff too. You can usually tell by feeling the fabric. It's going to be much thinner and lighter than cotton and they'll have some fancy trademark name on the label like "Dri-Fit". Don't tell anyone but I wear my shirts a couple of times before washing them. They don't hold water at all and they won't be sweaty the next time you put them on. I still have a couple cotton shirts I use. They always get washed every time just for that reason.

 you did that to yourself for anyone reading this topic LOL..but i can def see your reasoning behind it!

    Whatever works.

I wear shorts/capries, shoes, socks, sports bra and a shirt. No tank tops or hats or anything else. My shirt is a thin dri-fit type. Makes it easier to move around and be comfy.

I got 5 sleeveless and thin polyester shirts (workout shirts), and 4 gym shorts for about 50 bucks at Target. good stuff. The shirts next to it were same material, but about 20 bucks more each.
I have my cycling shorts on the way, at about 30 bucks each (spandex shorts with cusion for my balls and *kitten*). Some company based out of Phila. They are about 40 bucks cheaper than the bike shop down the street.
Next I will get running shoes. The flat soles shoes I have just arent cutting it on the runs.
I dont care what the brand is. I dont need Nike or UnderArmor to work out. The Walmart stuff does the same job.
