When to weigh?

I have just started MFP again. I waited exactly 1 week to weigh myself, in the morning after using the restroom, and was surprised to lose 1lb. My calorie deficit should have led to about 0.5lb. Anyway, I like waiting and actually seeing a "big" number change rather than a couple of ounces every day, but I am nervous that this way is too prone to showing water weight swings rather than weight loss. Should I weigh three days in a row every week? Or look at the weight and the body fat % reading?
Thanks!
Thanks!

When do you weigh yourself?0

Just be consistent on your time, if I do weigh it's on saturday mornings after restroom0

Once a week is the generally recommended time frame and it's what I try to stick to. Daily weigh ins are far more likely to show water fluctuations and I wouldn't recommend it if you're likely to freak out over a sudden increase that will disappear the next day.0

I weigh every day, because I'm just the kind of person who NEEDS TO KNOW. If I gain a pound of water weight, I need to know exactly why and what it came from, and I can't just eat or drink something different and not find out how it affected me. Even though it is just fluctuation, it matters to me. So if you want to weigh every day, or three times a week like you said, just make sure you do it at the same time. I always do it after I use the bathroom in the morning with just my bra and underwear on.0

I weigh almost every day... its interesting to me to see the number swing up and down, however over time they are trending down. Its that trend that I want to see. I know that my day to day weighs are more likely due to water. ie. if I am down a pound in one day I know I should be drinking more water. If I make a big overnight swing up I may try to see if I had a bit to much salt or one to many brews.
I only "count" my Monday morning weigh in... I do them on monday to make me behave on the weekend.0 -
I weigh myself everyday too because I can't help it. I only track about once a week though.0

every day, morning and night...bit of a masochist I guess.0

Weight loss is a long term game. I find that it works best for me to weigh no more than once a week. And even then, you will see fluctuations based on water retention and other factors. The important thing is the trajectory over time. If you net out at a loss over several weeks, you're on the right track.
Good luck to you!0 -
Like everyone else has said, once a week, at the same time in the day.
But what I like to do most (and which is sadly the least encouraging most of the time) is try on my tightest fitting pants (basically too small for me) every once in a while and see what the fit is like.0 -
I weight myself everyday sometimes more than one time. But the "official" weight in the one I use for my tracker is Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Weight Watchers meeting.0
