My HRM strap says that you can use water. It does need something to be able to help read read the electrodes for your heart rate.
I just get it good and wet before putting it on.0 -

Thanks for the laugh - Seriously, I drip water on it prior to putting it on - that is based on instructions in the manual so it will read better during the beginning of your exercise before you are sweaty...:laugh:0

In all seriousness you want to use a little lube to avoid chaffing and discomfort. You want your session to be effective and gratifying.
As far as a strap for an HRM, I am not sure. What is that anyway? Hot Rear Mantool?0 -
