It's a New Year. A new year means new changes. This group is about trying hard every single day. It's been around for about 48 weeks but for some who are starting over, it's week one. However you look at it, the new year brings hope. There are a few members of our group who have gone through a lot of stress, and lot of mourning this past year. Let's hope that this new year brings nothing but happiness and joy. Others have celebrated new life. Whatever 2009 brought, it's now in the past and we all have a whole new year to experience hopefully wonderful things. Some of us in the group have fallen of the wagon. It's ok. This group is about supporting others, while welcoming new members all the time. We try hard every day, and it's about getting our lives back and learning how to cope with every day things and the unexpected. We support each other, congratulate one another on victories no matter how big, or how small. WE lay down the slipper when we need to, and we care. When you need support, you will get it from us here. We usually start a new thread on Fridays so starting this thread on Sunday is a little out of order but with the new year, I think it's needed. The holidays have taken some of us away from the computer so it hard trying to get a new one started on my part. This is how we post on Fridays-

cc_campbell81- SW 149, GW 130, CW 139.6= -2!
pinbotchick SW 237, GW 140, CW 211 = no change
manda111 SW 198, GW 140, CW 170= 3lbs gain
crazybee sw 273.2 gw 175 cw 246.1 = +7lb since 10/30/09
Guidosgal SW 224 GW not sure yet CW 186 = 1 pound lost
kstefanski: SW 200, GW 135, CW 162.4 = 0.6 pound gain
Losingit4good: SW 252, GW 190, CW 222= 10lb gain in the last 6 months.. noway

I took everyones posts from the previous thread and copied them over so that this weigh in is all on the new thread.
We copy and paste the list while adding to it.
sw is starting weight
gw is goal weight
cw is current weight.

We also like to throw down some challenges from time to time and with the Holidays kicking a lot of our butts, I think we need some new ones especially right now. So if any one has some suggestions throw them out there. A few of the members made some introductions of themselves on the last thread so here is the link so that you can read them and see who is who of some of the older members who had to step away for a while but thankfully have returned

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/73432-t-h-e-team-week-46-new-members-are-welcome

My name is Kelly. I'm 24 and I'm a mother to a 19 month old girl. I live with my boyfriend. I have been over weight for about three years and recently lost 23 pounds in the past 6 months or so. I've completely changed my eating habits and re taught my mind about food. I work for a non profit dog adoption and service dog agency. I live in Ohio near the Cincinnati area. I love this site, and I love this group.

Welcome all new members and all returning members. You are always welcome here no matter what. Just be kind to others. Let's start this new year off great and I wish everyone the best of luck with meeting goals, and setting new goals.

    Good afternoon everyone,

Since it's a new thread and a new year, I will reintroduce myself as well. My name is Victoria and I'm 41 with no children (unless you count DH and my brother - sometimes they act like kids:grumble: )... I'm a physical therapist living in northern MI. I started this journey for getting healthier 3 months ago. I have lost 26 pounds and have tons more energy. The support from everyone on MFP has been wonderful. THANKS :flowerforyou: My mom who just turned 62 is my best workout partner. My goal for the new year is to complete a 5K (preferably under 40 min). I am into week 6 of C25K training. My dream would be to complete the Detroit half marathon in October. I am taking baby steps to get there. My longest run so far has been 20 min. I have a long ways to go - I'll just keep trying harder everyday.

My name is Angie. I'm 34, happily married and a mother to a 15 year old girl. I have been over weight for most of my life, but lost 44 lbs within the past 2 years with the help of a personal trainer and dietitian. Unfortunately, I fell off the wagon, after surrounding myself with negative people, so I re-gained 28 lbs  . I'm trying to completely changed my eating habits and reteach my mind about food.I am an emotional eater, which is the biggest challenge I have.

Hoping to give and get lots of support, I LOVE MFP:)

    SW 232, GW 140, CW 209.8= -1.4!!!!

Yeah I found it.. They really changed the site...

So I did Wii fit for 30 mins... I think I am going to buy the Biggest Loser for Wii ... I'd love to walk outside but still too cold and we still have about 6 inches of snow/ice on the ground.. No walking around here yet..

Lets see.... here are my stats so I know what I'm dealing with....

SW 230/GW 145/ CW 203.4 --- I gained but I don't know how much since the last time I weighed.. I erased it all and didn't keep it.. I know I was in the 190's.... But here's to a fresh start..... :drinker:

great job on the new thread Pawprint!! You're the best! Welcome back Lisa. April, Victoria and Angie...welcome to the TEAM. My name is Debbie I am 51 yrs old. I have 4 kids and 1 grand daughter..My youngest just turned 18 on Christmas Day and had hernia surgery on New Years Eve. We've had a crazy end to 2009. I have fibromyalgia and excercising is painful for me. I feel great when losing weight and have more energy. My boss said I looked happier too. I started june 2009 an lost 34 lbs and fell off the wagon Oct 30th. I gained back 14lb. I changed my ticker to start over where I am at now. I am hoping I can get motivated to lose more and feel better. I have trouble with logging food that i cook. If it comes from a box or a frozen dinner it's easy, anything else i have a hard time and then don't log and get off track. My goal this week is to get back to drinking water...so I am going to have 4 glasses of water each day to start. Have a great day
  • Happy New Year Everyone! I joined the group in late October. My weight at that time was 149. I am married to a great man. We are both active duty in the Air Force. We have a beautiful daughter who is 18 months old. My life is at a point where I feel I am more blessed than I could have ever dreamed. My only "unhappiness" has been my weight. A coworker told me about this site and since then I've lost 19lbs. I'd hoped to have lost more by now but I've learned to forgive myself for the past and focus on the present. I wish everyone great success in the new year.

Could be longer were not sure.. I will be traveling to visit him about once a month.. I want to have realistic goals but want to have lost some weight each time I go visit him.. Honey, I'm hooooooooome!!! Okay, some of you people can be really pesky when you want something! Just saying. (But really, thanks for all the invites back ~ I've missed you gals!)

guidosgal - I am SUPER bummed to hear that there is no yournotfatanymore fairy. You have officially burst my bubble. Thanksabunch :( lol...

For the newbies, my name is Lauri, but my friends and family call me Lulu or Lu. I will be fifty in just 6 short months. I have a daughter who is 24 (btw old friends, she graduated college on Dec. 12 and got engaged on the 16th -wedding is in Sept.) and a son who is 20. Married 25 years to a cranky old guy whose still pretty good looking and makes me laugh almost everyday - sometimes AT him instead of WITH him, but hey, a laugh is a laugh :)

I've done okay being away, gained a couple of pounds but expect it to be gone in a week!

To our newbies - WELCOME! To the returnees (notice I didn't say "oldies") - I am soooooo happy to see you guys!!!

As for you!!! Little miss Pawprint!!! You have my utter and utmost respect friend! Thanks for keeping the home fire burning and for being such a fantastic motivator and encourager! I just LOVE you for carrying the torch all these weeks ~ I bow in your direction, again, and again!

Very cool to see all the faces here on the thread (new & old!), expect more of the old teamies to show up tomorrow as many of them have promised me on Facebook that they would start back on Monday! yay!!

About me... My name is Cyndi and I am one of the original members of T.H.E. team that started January 2009. I am a SAHM of 3 teens ages 18, 16 & 13. Happily married to my hubby that travels about 80% of the time for work as a Software & Systems Engineer. I lost 40lbs and fell off the wagon over the summer when I hit a plateau and got discouraged. I managed to maintain my loss for about 4 months, then halloween hit and all the other "stuff your face with junk" holidays rolled in soon after. Ive gained 10lbs back and am determined it isnt sticking around long! Im currently at 222lbs...aiming to get down to the 190's.

As promised, I am back with the swing of things! Hubby and I hit best buy and I got that Biggest Loser workout game for the Wii fit. It was $19.99 there for those of you who are interested in it. I did a 6 minute warm up then 18 minutes of yoga and another 8 minutes of cooldown to it yesterday. I was feeling it later in the day. All those muscles in my abs, butt and thighs got a big "Hello!" after not having been worked much over the past several months. Jillian kicked my booty and I like it. Its challenging and I started out on the beginner level.

This morning when I got up... I was sooo stiff! I got breakfast and headed with Diego (my doxie dog) to the park for a LONG 3 mile walk 1/2 of which was a new route that Id never taken before and it turned out to be 50% hills.. LOL Combined with yesterdays little workout... my poor little calves and thighs are hating me right now :0)

I managed to drink ALL of my water today. Had good meals and stayed away from the sugar. Made Chicken BLT salads for dinner tonight which rocked.

Tomorrow, the plan is to hit the park with Diego and do a 6 mile walk. No hills, so I should be able to make it the whole way. Im gonna stretch out good in the morning and make sure I take my water with me. Since the weather is cooperating, Im taking full advantage of the outdoors.

    Hello my old loves:heart:

My year has been awesome weight-wise. I lost that pesky "last ten pounds" last winter (for the second time) and I've managed to lose another five pounds below my goal without much effort by doing the right things. I stopped logging foods for a while in the summer because I am so active in the summer that the weight and food are not an issue.

I'm happy to report I haven't regained any of the weight. Official maintenance for now. I was "wogging" for a while, then running, but with a back injury, just can't run or do high-impact stuff anymore, so it's walking, weights and ZUMBA on DVD - which gives me such joy that I wake up with the music in my head.

It was nice to catch up with some of you old timers who were here back-in-the-day. Glad to see wuwu and Li4g still here.

Good job pawprint: you have taken on the leadership with style :flowerforyou:

I'll see you all around the boards. Drink your water!!

Make 2010 your best year ever!

Good Morning.. I'm waking up, enjoying a cup of coffee then off to wake my husband up and have him move my treadmill into the family room... I am going to have to use it to walk until the snow and ice melts.. My goal is to hit the treadmill 4 days a week for 30 mins and 30 mins with the Wii Fit 4 days a week.. LI4G - I'm in on the challenge - Stupid Men, he just informed me he won't put it in the family room... I'll have my son do it when he's in TX, teach him to tell me no.. What a grump....

    Oh well... Off to exercise..

    Anita
  • Hey all. I hope things are great for everyone. It's trying to decide if it's going to snow or not outside. Things are going pretty good here on the home front. Getting things in order to start the process to get ready to move out in Feb. Went and got the paperwork today and let's cross our fingers.

I am so excited. The 15th I'm leaving with my friend to go down to Gatlinburg for the weekend. We're leaving the kids and the men at home and hitting the road. We can't wait. We both need this get a way so badly. I'm counting down the days.

losingweightforme--Your welcome. I enjoy starting the threads. You can do it. This year will be great for you. You'll get on track and back in the run.

lorro--Nice to hear from you again. Good job on only gaining a few pounds after being awol for so long lol. I hope that you feel better soon. There's a nasty bug going around here too.

honda--Your not alone with the emotional eating. It takes time to retrain your mind. You can't just do it overnight. It takes time but you can do it. I never thought that I would get it. But one day it occurred to me that I had actually done it. Baby steps worked for me. You can do it.

CrazybeeRX--It is awesome to see you posting again Bee. I hope your sons recovery is going smoothly. I'm sure that is a huge relief that's been lifted off of you now. I like your personal goal about the water. It's a good one. Good luck.

lulubar--I'm so glad that your back. We all missed you. Congrats on your daughter's engagement. I bet your excited. It's good to have you back.

Has any one heard from adopt4? It's been a long time since she's posted. Just wondering if anyone had heard from her....

Okay, that's it for now. I gotta get a nap in before work.

    Later everyone.

That sounds awesome.... I'm in for it but I can't do 11 because of medical and personal but I'm in for a smaller number for sure.

    Hey,
I'm Amanda and I started I think this time last year. I don't post often but do read your wonderful stories. I am 30 this week!!! and looking to maybe starting a family with my husband in the next year or so. So I want to be in the best physical shape possible before hand. I live in Ft Worth TX and I teach HS art. I love to read and write and I am currently working to get a book I finished published. I have lost 30lbs so far and have another 30lbs to go before I reach my goal weight. I'm totally doing it this year.

    So very cool!

So for the valentines challenge I have so far...

    Crazybee
    Nitag
    Pawprint
    Losingweightforme
    and myself.

If anyone else wants to join, please add yer name to the list.
It doesnt have to be 11lbs. Just whatever number you want to shoot for for valentines day. For me 11lbs is reaching high also but Hey... wont know unless I really "try".. right? :0) even if I lose just 8lbs I'll be happy.. but for me the goal number is 11lbs, which means I'll have to work my booty extra hard over the next 6 weeks. LOL

Pawprint- As far as I know, Adopt4 said she would be back to MFP today. She is one of my real life friends so I see her often. If we dont see her check in today, everyone should send her a message with a padded slipper to the backside. :0)

Oh and as for me.... I was gonna do a 6 mile walk today but mother nature decided to send a massive downpour our direction and diego doesnt even want to go outside to potty much less walk 6 miles in this crud. Cant say I blame him.. I got soaked just trying to get him to go in the grass. Im also pretty dang sore from my long walk yesterday and jillian kicking my butt.. so Im gonna do some yoga on the wii fit today and see if I can get some good stretching in before going back to jillian on the biggest loser for wii so she can kick my butt all over again.

    Have a great day everyone!

Okay, fine. How do I let you people talk me into stuff like this. You know, all this accountability crud?? I'll go for 8 pounds. Happy?

Oh, and you know, I NEVER would have gotten this far without you. So, thanks.

Good on calories today, didn't move quiet enough and got half my water in. It was super duper busy at work - crazy after the holidays and all, so I made an easy bean soup for supper with lowfat cheese and some sliced avacado on top. Mmmmmm.

I got a Wii with Wii Fit for Christmas and I also got the Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum for Wii. I haven't done much with it yet - we just played games through the holidays, (boxing is a great workout though) but starting tomorrow - I am committing to 30 minutes a day 5 days a week. Just putting that out there.

    Bunchahugs ~ lulu
