Microwaving provides me extra time at the gym. Ergo, microwaving destroys my fat cells. V. Dangerous!!!

I just microwaved cauliflower cheese, took 8 minutes. Normally it takes 30 minutes and twice the amount of washing up. I love microwaves. :flowerforyou:

    Microwaving saves lives.

If I microwave food, I don't heat up my house, become incredibly overheated and angry, and go on a hulk-smash rampage.

My grandmother wasafraid of the microwave. She used to heat up all her food on the stove in a pot.....and then walk away and forget about it because she was in her 80s. But the microwave was dangerous.:grumble:

I have been microwaving my food almost exclusively for over two years. Very little that I can't prepare using one. Less cook time, less cleanup...

I completely agree. It's quick, uses less energy, and it lets you skip the oil in lots of dishes.

However, I'm going to go ahead and make a related point. DON'T microwave plastics. For that matter, don't boil or bake plastics. Apart from the monomers themselves being leeched into the food (at relatively low concentrations), there are various polymerization catalysts (which typically are heavy metal based), conditioners, stabilizers, etc which are present in the plastic and leech into food with heat.
