Day 8, I can't Diet no more....Tex-Mex Turkey Burger

This is adopted from Rachel Ray, a fabulous gal and cook.

Feeds 4:

Extra lean ground turkey, 20 ounce package
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder (or you can use 2 cloves, minced)
1/3 cup of cheddar cheese, finely shredded
salt and pepper, just a tad

Kaiser roll (yep, I went with the white ones!)

Topping
4 teaspoons sour cream (1 teaspoon per burger)
chopped cilantro

Additional toppings:
Red onion (a MUST, for me)
slice of tomato
lettuce
jalapeno peppers
salsa

Mix the burger meat, cheese, spices together. Form into 4 patties. Cook on grill or nonstick pan until reads as done by a meat thermometer for turkey.

While the burgers are cooking, mix the sour cream and cilantro, Chill.

Toast Kaiser rolls in oven.

Burger, sauce, topping(s) of choice

(Note, Rachel's recipe called for sorreno peppers and red onion to be placed IN the turkey mixture. This will make it a spicy burger, which my kids were not going to eat. So, I made this a choice by using these ingredients as toppings)
