I was afraid of this...
After 2 weeks of absolute life-changing events have got me down, I'm turning to my one thing that is always there...FOOD!
It started today, so maybe I can get back to my new normal tomorrow.
What do you do when feeling you're about to start reverting back to your old ways?

I decide to stop on the day I am reverting. I never wait until tomorrow. I say to myself: "this evening is going to be a good evening even if I screwed up the rest of the day. I'm going to eat only healthy foods this evening and lots of water and tea. I'm going to make this evening something to be happy about."
Never, ever say "I'll start tomorrow".0 -
You need to change your entire mindset. There are no "old" ways and "new' ways only food (fuel), exercise (burn) and rest. No matter what you eat you are adding calories (fuel) and need to either stay within the limits you have set for yourself or exercise (burn) off the excess on a weekly basis. If you are over for a day or two then simply begin anew tomorrow. Once you settle into a pattern of fueling and burning and you see how mediocre your exercise sessions are due to poor nutrition you will naturally begin to fuel yourself better.
If you find food is an addiction then you must stop eating or drinking whatever you are addicted to and never ever go back. I personally do not believe in weaning or moderation where addictive foods are concerned because much like alcohol, drugs, porn or whatever your addiction, quitting is terribly difficult.
Each day is a new day and yesterday does not matter. Trust me I speak all of this from experience and am not simply lecturing. You must keep beginning each day until you can keep the past in the past and not beat yourself up when you eat something which was not the best choice.0 -

But to answer your question, i usually, just eat my emotions and start fresh in the morning. Usually going strait to the gym in the morning starts me off right0 -
I try to remove myself from the situation (food) or what is triggering the desire to eat things I know I don't need. I'll take a walk or go ride my stationary bike or find something to do with my hands that makes it impossible to eat at the same time.0

omg i so feel you on this i cut out soda and i was eating less but now i'm drinking soda almost everyday and i'm eating when i'm full...i'm so stressed..but i'm trying my best to slow it down....it's all up to you just think of how far you've come0

Step away from the food, and go work out.
The working out will distract you from needing to feel full, and start working on some of the calories that have been consumed. Some of my best workouts come when I'm trying to stop eating.0 -

If you're turning to food instead of the Lord, it sounds like you are addicted to food whether you are admitting it to yourself or not.0 -

... to my internal voice that tells me I am worth more than giving up on my health.
If I really need a day of indulgence though, I will take a day and have snacks and sweets and wallow about whatever. One day every now and then is good for the soul, and it doesn't mean I've wasted all of my other hard work or that I'm not going to get back on track tomorrow. I'm too legit to quit.0 -
I use MFP to hold myself accountable. Before logging in, I would have a bad food day and go, "oh well. If you're gonna do something wrong you might as well do it right!" Then I'd binge. Now I prelog my calories before I ever consume them, and sometimes when I feel a binge coming on, I log the calories just to get a feel for the numbers. So far it's been enough of a deterrent .0

Cry.... kick myself.... eat skinny cow icecream sundae..... wake up and go to gym.
I still have days where all I want to do is eat, especially at work coz it's ridiculously stressful at the moment. I physically remove myself from the places where there's food, hide in an office somewhere and get on the MFP discussion boards seeking inspiration, or at least verification that I'm not the only one struggling.

^ Said perfectly. I notice a lot of people have the "I've already screwed up the day might as well keep going." Not so much. No need to crab 500 or 1000 or more calories in just because you already messed up.0 -

Yes and that too!!! I seek out food and go "I'm going to eat an entire bag of chips and no-one is going to stop me" but then I check the food database on here and when I realise that bag of chips equals an entire day's food, or at least 2 solid hours working out, I put it away!0 -

I think about how long it'll take to lose the weight. I have a lot to lose, so maybe a year, 18 months? And then I imagine how I'll feel if I'm still this weight at that time, when I could be done already.0

think about all of the reasons you hated being unhealthy/overweight enough to start this journey. If you haven't written them down, write them down. There have to be some deep, dark reasons...even secrets that only you know....as to why you were motivated to start this journey. If you dig deep enough to find those reasons, this activity should help get you back on the right track.
never forget that this is and always will be a battle with your mind. the physical part is easy if you get past those mental stumbling blocks (I call them mental meanies and brain bullies).0 -

Just curious, do you know the dfference between spirituality and religion? Gods will is not a excuse, excuses are excuses and sometimes people abuse Gods word for their own selfish agenda or lack there of. I am a spritual person whom belives in God, also I take responsibility for my mistakes and realize they are part of life.0
