No weight loss recently?

Hi all,

I'm hoping that you will all tell me iot's normal and not to give up etc... but for the last two weeks i haven't changed my routine or calorie intake but i haven't been losing, infact if anything i have put a couple of pounds back on?

I have been excercising twice a week (Karate) which i gues would be building muscle mass but i have been doing that all along and it hasn't effected my weight loss.

Any ideas why?

I'd say you protein intake is way too low for a 30 year old male that exercises. That will slow you down quite a bit.

That ^You cant really build muscle in a calorie deficit, so its unlikely that that is the case unfortunately,

And you eat a lot of white bread and processed foods, like A LOT.
Maybe eat some food with more nutritional value, more fruit and veg, sweet potatos, brown rice. Make homemade burgers with mince and some seasoning, have with roasted sweet potato chips and some salad. Kicking your eating in the bum will definitely help get you back in gear.

Your low calories may be a bit too agressive, i was in the exact same place as you, 50% of the way through on 1400kcal (although swap lbs for kg) and then i didnt loose for about 2 weeks, and slowly started creeping up (although my diet is quite a bit more along the lines of the above poster), so i upped my calories to 1600 (generally only eating around 1500-1550) and i dropped a massive amount at the start, and have been steadily loosing 2lbs a week, when it supposedly should only allow 1.5lbs!.....

    Maybe worth a try!
  • Thanks all,

I'll try upping my daily intake and see what happens, also may look at the kind of food i am eating, but because of my lifestyle/work patterns i may not have a lot of choice some days... Working in a prison 4 days out of 8 and having to eat what is provided cause i'm not allowed off site to eat!

    All advice much appreciated!
