No Excuse!

Everyday when I go walking or am just out about, I always come across a reason why I am on this journey. I just wanted to share...the other day I was at the grocery store in line to pay for my items and in front of me was a morbidly obese woman in her wheelchair (the electric kind). The cashier asked her how she wanted her items bagged and she answered back (not even in a nice way but a demanding tone) that she wanted things a specific way...she wanted her meats double-bagged then placed in paper bags and all her fruits and vegetables sorted and double-bagged then placed in their own bagged. I thought to myself, why does she feel she is entitled to special treatment? Because she is obese? Well, no one brought that upon her...she brought it upon herself. I know many of you may think what I just said is wrong..but it is true. We are our own self and being so, each individual has control over his or her own body and how he or she takes care of it.

At that moment, I thought to myself, I don't want to that kind of person...to have to be dependent on others just because I put myself in a position where I could no longer do things for myself. If I don't do something about this now, I am headed for that path. There is NO EXCUSE for being overweight or obese. There is ALWAYS something you can do to lose weight. Yes, it may be that you cannot afford healthy food or to pay for gym membership, but there are others things you can do (for free), such as just taking walks or running daily to lose weight or to stay in good shape. There is NO REASON others should have to do things for you or give you special treatments because you refuse to lead a healthy lifestyle! As a human being, you OWE it to yourself that much to take care of yourself and love yourself.

  • You are so right. It's funny but every time I'll be in the store and someone will be riding in one of those chairs (usually taking up the whole isle...) It reminds me why I'm trying to lose weight. I'd die if I had to use one of those because I was too fat to walk.

These are the kind of posts I dig.

Well done. And ditto that on the moterized chairs. I'd jump off a cliff before I'd let myself get put in one of those because I couldn't put down the Twinkies.
