Pity party for one..

Okay, so granted I just started back up again about a week ago, but in that time I've given up sweets, fast food, soda, etc..which is HUGE for me, but as I filled out the food log, and realized I went over my counts (which I was not even following counts, I was just trying to generally eat better) it got me down. I feel like all my accomplishments and better choices mean nothing, because it's still not good enough. I've lost weight in the past, just by being on the go. I'm actually trying to overall do everything better and this is what happens. I know I shouldn't feel that way, but I'm just in a slump. I pulled a rookie move last night while working out, I pushed myself to the point I can not work out (at least to the extreme that I want to) Anyway, thanks for listening to me vent. I know it's really not a big deal, and there are bigger issues out there, but I just had to throw myself a pity party..

You are doing great! Look at all the things you have given up! You said yourself it has only been a week. Don't worry about going over the counts for now (you said yourself you were not even following them). You can't change everything all at once or you would not stick to it. You have made a HUGE step in the right direction! Feel good about that. Keep doing what you're doing and you WILL see results. Maybe not as fast as you want to (that's where I am anyhow) but you have to know that by eating healthier and exercising regularly you WILL see change. Also, I reccomend measuring yourself. Soemtimes you will see change there when you don't see any on the scale. No more pity party . . . you can do this! Be proud of what you have done this week!0

ANYTHING is better than doing nothing at all. But what you were doing...making those little tweaks and changes...is just exactly the way to get where you want to be. You can't perfect everything at once.
I want to be able to run five miles in one stretch. Do you think I can go out there and just do it? Nope. I have to start small. I have to work at it. You have to do the same. You know if the things you are doing are right for you. Getting rid of junk food is a fantastic start. Add something new or reduce calories somewhere each week or every two weeks until you're where you want to be. Ease into this.
Chin up, you're moving in the right direction!0 -

Okay you can give yourself 10 minutes to have a pity party. Then you have to spend the next 15 minutes praising yourself for all that you have accomplished so far. Its not a race and little by little you will get on track. Baby steps it will all come together. Just getting rid of the junk will make a huge difference. Be patient and stay positive. You can do this!0 -
Just consider the counts as a guideline for now, because really that's what they are. You said it yourself - you weren't focused on counts, you were focused on eating better. The real deal is what you are already doing - getting rid of the junk and going for the healthy stuff. It's way more important that what you are eating is good for you ---- what good would you be doing your body if you stayed within some random numbers but it was all highly processed, over salted, overly sweet, additive laden empty calories?0

Try planning your meals and filling out your food log a few days in advance. Then you know what your are allowed to eat and when. Takes the guess work out and fixes the problem of getting to the end of the day and THEN realizing you went over.0
