Hello everyone. This is day one for me. I'm hoping I can make some progress on my journey. I've been over weight my ENTIRE life. I'm a mom, a wife and I just want to reach a healthy weight so I can participate in life without feeling like it's too hard or like I don't fit in with everyone else. Feel free to "friend" me, I don't know anyone on here and it would be nice to find friends I can support and who can support me back.

Hi ~ I just started today too! I always say I want to lose weight but it never seems to happen so I am really motivated after going on a 3.5 mile bike ride last night. I want to lose weight so I like what I see when I look at myself and so I am healthy and here for my children, they are my life. I have a daughter who is nine years old and a son who is seven years old. Hopefully, we can make this journey a successful one together.0

Here's a word of encouragement. It gets easier. Once you start eating better and exercising, suddenly you want to only eat good things and you feel the need to exercise.
I have never been small either, and have never been fit. But I have been doing this for about 6 weeks and yesterday I was in the grocery and couldn't even walk down the aisle with the Hohos and stuff, because it smelled so disgusting! And, I really start itching to move every day.
So, hang in there, you'll get over a hump and then it will be second nature to you.0 -
Its day one for me too. I have around 100lbs to lose, there is no going back anymore.0

Welcome to all you new folks! I've been here about 3 weeks now, and I think it's very helpful.
The biggest things I've learned here are: don't beat yourself up when you backslide. Instead, pick yourself up and keep going. Log everything you eat (I know I need to be better at this).
Feel free to friend me. I don't bite... much.0 -
Hello I'm new. 40lbs to lose. I feel dreadful, fed up and fat. I really need to do this.
I need some help please. Can anyone tell me - not very computer literate I'm afraid - is there a list of calories anywhere and how do I access it. Many thanks.0 -
I've been here since February but started me journey in December. I'm here everyday. I've only missed one day actually since I started MFP only because I was in the mountains and couldn't get a signal to save my life. Anyhoo. I'm on a 1200 calorie a day diet, and I still eat plenty of food. I exercise as much as possible. Read my profile and send me a request if you think we're compatible. I like to do challenges with my friends and we push each other to try as hard as we can and believe me I still have bad days but not nearly as frequently as when I first started. I also prep meals 2 weeks in advance and freeze them so I'm less tempted to order out. Good Luck! You will love this site. It's wonderful and so are the people. You will find support in all sorts of ways!0

HI there I am also back at this I stopped for like 6 months and today when I got up I siad to myself this is it I can do it. I had a healthy breakfast and have drank water. Water is something I dont care for but I have to suck it up. Also went for a 30 minute walk with my daughter. Hopefully we can all help each other out with this. Does anyone know if there is a place to keep track of the water you drink? Take care all and have a nice day. Angela0

Welcome to your first success! YOU STARTED THE JOURNEY! When I started last July(JEEZ it's really been that long?) I didn't realize how many bumps in the road I would come across BUT that's why they call it a "weight loss journey." When I started I couldn't run 30 seconds. Just yesterday I ran 3 and a half miles! I was slow and it took me a little less than an hour but I did it and SO CAN YOU! Just remember no matter how discouraged or down you are on yourself, you are worth it. NEVER QUIT!0

I am new here too (well back again). I just started and don't have many friends on here. I would love to have active friends. Add me if you would like.0
