Real conversation I just had with my Other Half...

ME: "My legs are sore."

HIM: "From jogging?"

ME: "Probably some...but I also did like 74 squats yesterday, and some other stuff."

HIM: "They say squats are bad for you."

ME: "Who the (bleep)s 'they'?"

HIM: "The fitness experts, or whatever the hell they're called. They say squats and running are bad for you."

ME: "Okay...I can't even imagine a scenario in which you would be watching or listening to anything with a fitness expert, but I'm pretty sure THEY are wrong."

HIM: "Whatever... I'll remember that when I'm pushing you around in a wheelchair."

ME: "Yeah, okay...go smoke another cigarette and drink another beer and think about how stupid that sounds."

And so he did. Well, the first part, at least. I seriously doubt he ever thinks about the stupid stuff that he comes up with.

Sigh.

You're welcome for this entertaining look into my life.

You may carry on now...

They say a lot of things, don't they? And from what I've read, they often contradict themselves. In the early 1970s, "they" said we were moving into a new ice age. Now, "they" say we have global warming.

But, I can tell you that a friend of a friend of mine knows this girl who's cousin was talking to a guy who's mother worked with an ex employee of a company where the boss knew about a person who died while doing squats.....

Ha! I hope my Other Half doesn't hear about that. That would be his "I told you so" proof.

That was probably my uncle. He died while doing squats. Alongside the highway. That semi came roaring up, and I'm pretty sure my uncle never even knew what hit him. But he was doing squats, and died.

See- exercise is dangerous. Wait, was he DOING squats or did he have the squats?

The sadness isn't what he said, she said or they said. The sadness is that you openly on a public forum called your other half stupid. Seriously? Even though we don't know you or him, it still shows lack of respect for your other half and thats just sad

    Guys, cmon.

We all know MFP is totally the appropriate place to ***** about your SO. It's just to tell them to their face that they're pissing you off.

Actually if you do squats incorrectly it can damage your knees and running is really hard on the joints.

    ^^ This...

i mean I'll be honest, I chuckled a bit at the scenario you just presented, but it is sad and even though I chuckled...i would never post a public defamatory post about someone I loved like this...

if I truly couldn't respect my partner enough to treat them with respect they deserve, I would leave.

    sorry.

oh please. Where is appropriate to vent about a spouse? Better in a forum where nobody knows the spouse than to friends who DO know the spouse.

Why is it that in ANY thread on MFP where somebody vents and makes a negative comment about somebody else, there has to be an MFP person who starts the "how horrible of you to have negative thoughts about another human being"?? Just because somebody posts a negative comment about a person doesn't mean the poster or the other person are bad people. Sometimes you just have to vent.

And for the record, there are times where my wife does stupid things. THERE, I said it. Yes, i did, I said it and meant it and wouldn't take it back if you paid me. Well, OK, maybe if you paid me $100, I'd take it back.....

yeah, I'm a guy and anonymous because I have no need to be more than anonymous on this site. So, that negates anything I say? Do you have to know who I am for my comment to be worthy of consideration? If I post a pic, you don't even know if it's really me anyway. And lets be real, "majikmiker" isn't really your name, is it? So in essence, you're anonymous as well....

Yeah, I love me some klondike bars. Probably my favorite ice cream treat. Especially the oreo cookie version. I'll send you the delivery address and as soon as I get the Klondike bar, I'll take back every negative thing I've ever said in my life.....

She never said that he was stupid, she said what he said or did was stupid. We all say or do stupid things occasionally. I'm pretty sure she was just venting while joking at the same time. No one on here even knows her significant other. There is no need to make this a bigger deal than it is.

based on the one post and knowing absolutely nothing about either of them, I think they should get divorced. Obviously, if she comes here and posts something like that about him, they're totally incompatible, hate each other and are probably only days away from one of them going into a homicidal rage and chopping the other into small easily consumed pieces.

Yeah, I can tell all that from one post.....
