Exercise after a broken leg

What can anyone recommend as good choices to get me started. I broke my leg in October of last year and still have some issues with pain. I have tried doing several exercise dvd's but they all include lunges and squats which hurt. i am slowly regaining the flexibility i had but is taking longer than i thought. any suggestions?

    bump. I'd help if I could....seems like you could talk to your doc or one in sports medicine.

    What about swimming or walking? Also, pilates dvd's maybe?
