I wasn't really sure where to post this but does anyone have any tips or advice? have tried sleeping tablets, natural herbal remedies, alcohol, warm baths, eating just before bedtime, not eating before bedtime- haven't tried warm drinks because I only like hot chocolate!
I sleep for about 4 hours a night so it's not like I don't get any sleep but I am constantly tired and lethargic. I see my trainer 2-3 times a week in the morning and have had 2 terrible workouts this week which has put me on a downer and my PT is worried that my lack of sleep will have a negative effect on my progress.
I have been to a sleep clinic and apparently I have no problems but still struggling!

Have you tried Melatonin? It's what your body makes naturally to help you fall asleep. It's the only thing I've found that helps me. It doesn't leave me with medicine head in the morning. Other than that I've got nothing. I know how frustrating it is. When I was younger it was easy surviving on 1-3 hours of sleep a night. Not so much as I get older. Hope you find something that works!0

We can't get it in the UK except on prescription and the Doctor refused to prescribe it for me. I have tried buying it off the internet but it's had no effect. God knows if it what it actually was though.0

I'm struggling right now with insomnia. My sleep doctor has me doing Cignitive Based Therapy right now. He sent me here http://www.cbtforinsomnia.com/JoinNow.html He had me purchase the one towards the bottom that costs $47.85, it's the second buy now button from the bottom and it starts reading like this: "The Conquering Insomnia program is also available in a 3-part combination package with the E-mail Q&A and the Relaxation Techniques for Improving Sleep compact disc for a package price of $47.85"
I'm on week three now and I've seen some improvement. This program is supposed to be better then Ambian for long term sleep. I've seen some improvement. It's not easy, the doctor you e-mail your sleep diary to will most likely restrict your sleep to a very specific go to sleep time and wake time. Look it over it may help.
I have nothing to do with the website, I'm using it due to the instructions of my doctor.0 -

That stinks! I hope you find something. There is nothing worse than laying in bed unable to sleep even though you are completely exhausted.0 -
Can you order from drugstore.com in the UK? The products they carry are of the best quality and meletonin is sold through them.0

Not heard of that one, I'll have a look thanks. Will also look into CBT, never thought of that.0 -
I just went into the gym and walked out because I wasn't feeling it. The reason was I didn't sleep well. I have these nights like once per week. I tried everything but it only happens about once per week but the day following the poor sleep is usually completely wasted exercise and work wise.
I am leaning toward a sleep study. I have tried pills, potions, and tactics.0 -
Most prescribed sleep meds are also anti-depressants. Mine would make me sooooo out of it the next day like a zombie AND made me gain so much weight I had to get off of it. Now, I use Melatonin or cannabis.0
