Running Pain

My last two runs I've ended up with very painful cramps right under my right breast. It's a very sharp pain that will sometimes go away when I'm running but may come back. On my last run I was only about 5 minutes in when it started, then it went away for a bit and came back maybe 15 minutes later.

Does this have to do with posture, speed, breathing, is it possible I just need to invest in a new sports bra with more support?
It's very frustrating not being able to finish a run because of the pain.

Yes, this. And if I feel a stitch coming on, I slow just a little and really make sure I'm taking deep measured breaths and it usually goes away before it gets any worse, then I can speed back up and continue the run.

I forget where I read it, otherwise I'd post, but two major takeaways that I follow and work for me are, one: its NOT from drinking a lot of water, so drink up before and during. The whole waiting after you eat/drink to go in the pool/do extensive exercise is false. And two: being sure to take good breaths while you run, versus shallow breaths that beginner runners can take because they aren't used to running. When I was doing my C25K I ran into side stiches all the time, and now I very rarely do, and I think it has a lot to do with watching my breathing.

thanks i'll have to watch my breathing closer. It felt like a side stitch but thought maybe it was something else because it was up so high and not really in my abdomen.
