Weigh more after exercising

I've noticed the morning after I workout, I weigh more. What exactly is causing this? It's a little annoying. I get my good runs in on Sunday evening but my work weigh ins are on Mondays so always more than I was. Anyone else?

Your muscles are retaining water in order to heal themselves...Stop jumping on the scale every day....0

^^^^^absolutely right...pick a rest day and weigh yourself first thing the morning after0

Yes, it is water weight that your muscles are retaining. I have noticed the same thing in my running. Just try to get you in a rest day, drink lots of water and weigh the next morning...0

I've noticed the exact same thing and frankly it does it even before working out. I weigh everyday 1st thing. I'll go out to get a coffee, not drink any of it and come home to get ready to work out. This takes about 20 mins. By the time I get back I'm up 1 - 2 Lbs. WTF I say!!! No worries for me as the next morning I'm either back to where I weighed in the previous day and sometimes lower (bonus).
I believe what this has to do is the blood oxygen levels while you're awake increase significantly. More oxygen in your blood, more muscles working, etc. When you exercise this increases even more plus you add in the water intake where you're muscles retain water when working your muscles.
Really not sure if that's all true but that's what I've been told and kind of makes sense.0 -
Oh yes the same thing with me and it drove me crazy for 3 weeks i guess it's water weight i would go up by as much as 4 pounds but that is finally over and my weight is dropping again.0
