Entry level HRM under £50?

I've been looking into buying a Polar FT2 so I know my cals logged during excersise etc are accurate as I've been at a plateau losing and gaining the same 5lbs for 3 months.
Just wondering if anyone else uses this model and if they like it.
Or if you use a different make/model what would you recommend?
Thanks!

Search ebay for a FT4. I got mine delivered here from a UK seller for under $100 AUD..... so under your price should be easy0

i have the FT4 and love it. it was only $65 on bodyelectronics.com0

Lloyds Pharmacy in UK do a HRM watch and strap set for less than £15 - i bought mine last year and it was £22.99
I swapped with my PT for one day, he had a Polar 7, and he said that mine was accurate enough for me - i dont eat back every last exercise calorie, and tend to overestimate my food to be on the safe side

The Polar FT4 is the most recommended HRM on here. Spend the extra 65p on Amazon and go for it x0

I just bought a Polar FT7 - got a great deal on eBay - for around $50 (sorry, not sure what the conversion rate is :P). In my experience it's pretty accurate and with the FT7 you can change the batteries yourself when you need to (a lot of people complained that you couldn't on the FT4, but I've never had one so IDK if that's true).
** I just did a quick eBay uk search and I see several for £53 - £65, so I guess it would depend on how set you are on your price range **0 -
I use the Timex Ironman Road Trainer ($65-100USD). It has a lot more features than the basic Polar FT2 if you're a runner who wants to record splits, time spent in zone, etc. I think it looks okay to wear all day and helps serve as a reminder to go for a run when I get home from work. One thing to note, which I think is true of most HRM, is that the calories burned according to the watch can be way off. But, the HR is fairly accurate.0

I've recently bought mine from Tesco, pretty bog standard but it cost less than £20 Edited to say I'm not sure of the make...0

Both the Polar FT4 and FT7 are recommended quite a bit on this site by other users. I just ordered the FT7 for $73 on Amazon. The FT4 ran about $58 or so. Mine should be in by the weekend and I can not wait to use it!0

Wow thanks folks! I have amazon vouchers and the ft4 is on sale so I might go treat myself!
Thanks for all the replies!

Are there any out there that don't require the chest strap?
I'm not looking for 100% accuracy, and I don't need GPS - I just need a basic HRM without all the gizmos, gadgets, bells and whistles. Any ideas?0 -
