I am looking for coping techniques for some one who burnt off more calories than they consume and have lost a dramatic amount of weight? for example eats about 600 calories and works out burning 1000 calories. Any ideas?

You want to SUPPORT this behavior or you're concerned for the person's health and want to intervene? I hope it's intervene....I don't really have any good advice, but I really hope it's intervention tips you're looking for....

Yea, with the wording of your post it's a little difficult to tell if you are asking for ways to help overcome a disorder or for ways to have a disorder.

Best general things I know: Eating disorders are related to control issues. Saying "eat more." "don't starve yourself." "Take a break" etc will not help. Counseling for the disorder is vital to stopping the process; it doesn't just go away. It is a control disease the same as obsessive compulsive disorder.

So glad you want to help this person recover; best of luck to you both. It is a long, long road.

No I do not want to have this disorder. I want to assist the individual. I hope they are not on the river denial ( the nile). Makes me sad to think of what they are doing to themselves. I think they are a real nice person upsets me. So reaching out for information to help as in intervene without it getting nasty. I could d-friend but that is not the compassion that I feel they need.

Why are you the person who needs to save them? Do you think that they do not know what they are doing and that there is something you can say that will give them a sudden religious-like clarity? I realize that you have lost a whopping five pounds and probably feel like you need to spread your god-like powers of healthy living to the world, but come on.

Maybe mind your own business and work your own routine. You have plenty of days logged eating under 1,000 calories yourself.

I don't know why I read these forums.

If your talking about me why didn't you come and ask me why I fast (600 calories) 2 days a week instead of coming on a forum.

I'm on the 5:2 diet which is a bit like the Eat Stop Eat way of eating.

5 days a week I eat between 1700-2500 calories and 2 days a week I eat 600 calories and at the moment I'm losing about 2lb a week.
I train 5 times a week lots of CV and a bit of weight training.

There is another reason why I fast 2 days a week , there have been research suggesting that fasting can help with long term health eg: Alzheimer's , lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure.

If your not talking about me sorry about my rant
