BEST No-Weights Strength Building Workout

I'm trying to do a full body strength training workout that doesn't involve me going to the gym. I'd like to know if it's possible to build muscle based on your own body strength going against itself (plus I have 3 and 5 pound handweights but I don't know if those will help any).
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have the 'you are your own gym' android app for when I can't do real weights. I like it plenty.0

I have seen results doing this: planks, crunches, squats, lunges, and 7 pound hand weights. You can use YouTUbe to make sure your form is correct. Also someone suggested that I google Convict Conditioning to use your body weight as resistance. Love to hear more ideas.0

You can get very strong doing only body weight exercises.0 -

Pushups, squats, lunges, etc. Look into body weight exercises. You can also look into resistance bands which are fairly inexpensive and portable.0

You can also add lots of push ups and you can do tricep dips off a piece of stable furniture.0

In addition to what others have said... pushups! I do this youtube video workout sometimes:

Bonus is that it's friggin' hilarious (to me anyway) so it makes the workout more enjoyable. I do as many real pushups as I can and then switch to modified.0 -
Plyometrics are awesome -- use your own body weight, lots of agility, jumping squats, etc. -- i'm sure you can find a youtube video.
Calisthenics -- think elementary P.E. push-ups, pull-ups, jumping jacks, etc.

Check out MARCROOPS YouTube channel. He has a lot of bodyweight exercises. Hill sprints and Burpees all day will get your heart rate up fast and burn some serious cals. They're also good full body workouts.0

Order this dvd now: The Isometric Total Body Workout DVD - It's all you need to get a total body workout in about 15 minutes a day. Isometrics are terrific and they work as good or better than weights. They're also safer and can be done anywhere. You will find the DVD on Amazon. There are also a few good books on isometrics. I will add that the famous Charles Atlas used dynamic tension to get strong. That's a form of isometrics. You may have never heard of him. You look very young. Good luck.0

You can do a lot to burn calories, increase functional strength, and overall fitness doing bodyweight exercises alone. Adding muscle MASS however is a completely different animal that requires hypertropher training, something that can only be done with weights. If you're looking to "get big" then you need weights. Otherwise bodyweight trainign will do just great.0
